"how are you feeling?" Draco asks sitting on his bed beside me
"i feel like shit." i say sighing
"i know." he says
silence takes over the room and i lay back on the pillow, staring at the ceiling
"what am i going to do?" i ask Draco
"you're asking me to help you decide?" he asks
"yes, i need help. i mean the last thing that i honestly want to do right now is become a Death Eater....but i don't want to die....i don't want to leave you." i say
"if you're asking for my honest opinion, i'll give it to you." Draco says
i sit up "i am" i say
"Vanessa, i don't want this life for you. i don't want you to become a slave for someone that can mess with your mind and tortures people. i don't want that for you.....but, if its a life or death situation here, i don't want you to die. I'm in love with you. you can't die. you can't leave me here." he says
"so you're saying i should become a Death Eater?" i ask
"well....yeah." he says
i take a deep breath "Draco, I'm just....scared." i say
"i know. I'm scared too." Draco says pulling me into him
"i don't know..." i say "i don't know if this is the right choice."
"no. its the right choice. you can't die. i won't let you die. i'll...i'll..i'll become one too. i'll protect you." Draco says
i lean away from Draco and look into his eyes "no! you cannot become one! if anything i want you to stay...you." i say
"no. I'm becoming one. right now. i have to protect you. we can do this together." Draco says reaching out for my hand
"Draco , no! don't do this!" i say
"i want to do this. for us." he says
he gets up and heads for the door. he places one hand on the doorknob and reaches the other one out for me
"come on." he says
i nod "but whatever happens, know that i love you and nothing will ever change that."
"i love you too. with all my heart." he says
i grab his hand and he pulls me out of the door. i take deep, slow breaths trying to calm myself. am i doing the right thing? should i be sacrificing Draco like this, too?
my mind was flying with questions that didn't have answers.
we climbed down the long staircase that descended down to the first floor, in silence. neither me nor Draco had the guts to talk. partly because if i opened my mouth i may just burst into tears. so i stayed silent. i stayed completely and utterly silent.
we reached the large french doors that entered into the dining room, where the Dark Lord now stood. he had been called earlier by an unknown person.
"Draco......are you sure about this?" i ask finally breaking the silence
"no....im not sure about a damn thing." Draco said squeezing my hand and pushing open one of the doors.
my feet fell one in front of the other due to instinct. this was it. this is where my life changes
forever.
