The Dragon Incident

1 month after the field trip:
The Quartet had gone on a visit to Tokyo to visit Touka's boyfriend, who Eri had started calling "Uncle Ken," which made Touka turn bright red in embarrassment on multiple occasions. When they met him, Eri was planning on calling him uncle just to see his reaction.
They were making their way to the meeting place when they ran into him in the streets of Nerima ward looking very scared.
"Ken, what's wrong," Touka asked, worrying over him
"I messed up badly," Kaneki said, positively shaking
"Kaneki, what did you do," Izumi asked, concerned.
"I ate an entire species of Ghoul meant to replicate my situation. I no longer feel safe. Run! Get out of here." Kaneki said, tripping over his words as his physical state gradually got worse.
He ran to the 24th ward, an underground city, but transformed just before he got there. An absolutely monstrous mass of kagune and flesh erupts and spreads through the city of Tokyo, the main body of it climbing up the original home office of the CCG and wrapping around it.
Luckily, the Midoriyas had jumped up onto a building before the chaos had ensued. The air was full of screams of fear and pain, and the groans of the heavily mutated kagune rubbed against the buildings. Aogiri was ready to provide assistance in the city.
"What has he done to himself," Touka said as she fell to her knees.
"I have a theory as to where we can find his body," Izumi said, pointing to the large head of the creature.
Since the hero commissions headquarters were in Tokyo, all heroes and police in the area were gathered near the Dragon. Izumi had run over to where the heroes had gathered.
"What is that thing," one of the heroes said, looking at the Dragon having wrapped itself around the CCG office.
"That is the result of a ghoul having lost all control," Izumi said, putting her had on that hero's shoulder.
"Why are you here," the hero asked
"I come to Tokyo to find out my ranking in the hero association and to meet my sister-in-law's boyfriend,"
"May I get your hero name," the hero said.
"Lamia, I should be on leave, though," Izumi said.
"Oh, sorry, Mrs number 4," the hero replied.
Izumi noticed that there were news reporters around pointing their cameras up at the dormant Dragon.
"Excuse me, press can I draw your attention," Izumi asked nicely.
The reporters turned to her and nodded silently.
"I am the number 4 Pro Hero Lamia, the first ghoul Pro Hero. This monster is the result of a cannibalistic ghoul losing all self-control," Izumi said declaring to the entirety of Japan. "This is a threat that only ghouls and the highest ranked heroes can deal with. We need to extract an Eighteen year old from this creature's head safely, so no antics."
The Quartet ran into the building, making their way to the top, clearing out any of the left-over CCG operatives still in the building, including a scientist who thought using the Arata Armour Quinque in front of the children of the ghoul it was taken from was a good idea. He got skewered by Ayato's Kagune blade right through the eye. The one-winged kagune blade was an imitation of a Koukaku to get over an ukaku ghoul's weakness in close-quarters. Izumi asked if they minded if she donned the Quinque armour to protect herself, Ayato was all for it, Touka was indecisive but relented due to Ayato's enthusiasm.
When she donned it, the armour took form around Izumi's body, folding in rectangular plates overlaping each other like medieval armour, the plates contouring her curves, and forming a thick layer of protection, enough to shrug off a direct attack from herself in Kakuja form.
They made it to the highest accessible window, and Izumi smashed it open with a single large Rinkaku tendril. They then climbed to the top of the Dragons head.
Dusk had fallen by the time they reached its apex, and there was a dimly glowing red spot at the very top of its head between the eyes.
"There is where we will find Ken,"Izumi said, pointing to the large glowing patch.
"All Ghouls in Aogiri are my responsibility, I'll get him out of this." Izumi said, forming a one-winged kagune blade like Ayato.
Her kagune blade is different. It was more blade like, adopting a falchion like appearance, appearing similar to Ayato's but more blade like instead of spear point. Instead of being metallic grey like his, hers was a brilliant faded purple with a crimson edge.
She gently cut through the heavily layered structure of the Dragon with the blade until she reached Kaneki. Once she reached him, she converted her kagune back to their regular state and scooped Kaneki out of the dragon, and handed him to Touka.
"We have about an hour before this whole thing dissipates and causes ghoulification due to the excessive Rc cells in the air," Izumi said as she started walking down the Dragon's back and removing the Arata Quinque.
Eri followed using her exceptionally long Rinkaku to prevent her from falling, while Touka and Ayato followed behind.
They got down to street level to warn everyone in the immediate vicinity of the Dragon to evacuate at least ten miles from the office building unless they wanted to become ghouls.
Of course, many people moved away from the radius of the affected area, while there were a couple dozen people who didn't escape the vicinity because they wanted to be ghouls or they didn't have time before the Dragon dissipated in a giant puff of red dust, which was a cloud of pure Rc cells.
This situation was difficult to handle because there were a number of ghouls that had developed into Kakuja because of their closeness to ground zero of the Dragon and nearly two dozen new starving ghoul All of the ghouls would be agglomerated into Aogiri as a way to keep them safe and teach them the new things they would have to do as ghouls.
They made their way to the train station, still carrying Kaneki, who was unconscious for the next two days, and got on a train back to Shizuoka. Touka propped Kaneki up in the corner, then pulled his head onto her lap. Izumi chose a corner seat so she could look out the window, Eri sat in the middle and ended up falling asleep on her lap and Ayato was forced to sit on the end and stayed awake for the 80 minute train ride. Izumi admired the scenery, especially while passing Mount Fuji.
Touka and Kaneki now had a separate home from Izumi and Ayato, so about five minutes from home, they parted ways as there was only a 5 minute walk between the homes.
"I'm going to be taking a break from action, but I will keep teaching for a couple of months, so can I rely on you for food, Yato," Izumi said, slumping onto the sofa as if her legs just gave out on her, which they did.
"Of course you can, I'll even take Eri to give you some time alone," Ayato replied.
"I can't feel my legs," Izumi said, "I just want to rest. Can you get me some coffee,"
"Why not, we deserve it. Also, where did you put dad," Ayato said.
"I put his Quinque with the ones made from my parents, over there," She said, pointing to a table in the corner of the living room that had a little memorial to the quinque.
"Oh, that's good. Have a small shrine in memoriam of our parents. I never noticed," Ayato said, praising Izumi for making the shrine.
"That's because you are too focused on looking after me and Eri," Izumi said, beckoning him over to her.
"What do you need," he said, leaning over her.
"I can't walk. Can you carry me please," she said, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Sure, like I'd let you sleep on the sofa," he said, picking her up while she clung to him.
He carried her to the bed awkwardly as he was much shorter than her and laid her down only to see Eri scamper past him and jump into the bed for cuddles.
"Sometimes I wonder how 1a lost to 7-year-old that cute," he said, smiling before leaving.
He went on a nighttime patrol and went as far as Hosu looking for a villain or something of the sort. He killed a villain that threatened to harm him, not like it would have hurt him, skewering the villain on his one-winged kagune blade. On the way back after dissecting the body and packing the bits away, he ran into the Hero Killer, Stain, who injured Ingenium (Tensei Iida) in front of him. When she woke up, he told Izumi about how, in the upcoming work study, they would have to watch over Tenya in Hosu.
