Eri's Gift

The morning after Hinami's rescue. Eri woke up to a very unique surprise.
Eri woke up after a somewhat good night of sleep, feeling kind of terrible.
"Uhh, go back to sleep," Hinami said in her sleep.
Eri looked over in surprise and looked closer at the girl who was asleep now hugging her arm and pulling her down. Eri managed to worm out of Hinami's grasp but ended up falling out of bed and landing on her head with a thud.
"Oww," Eri said, rubbing the spot where her head hit the floor.
Izumi was woken up by the thud because she was quite a light sleeper and walked into the room to see Eri on the floor rubbing her head and Hinami still asleep, snoring.
"Are you okay, Eri," Izumi said, picking Eri up.
"I'm okay, but who is that," said Eri, pointing at Hinami.
"That would be your blood-related cousin, Hinami, I rescued her last night and dropped her off with you," Izumi said before booping Eri's nose.
"My cousin? But you're Mama," Eri said
"But you're not my daughter by blood, I'm too young." Izumi said, some what scowling.
It was by this time Hinami had woken up and wanted to see Eri.
"Eri, is that you," Hinami said
Izumi put Eri down, who proceeded to go to Hinami and give her a hug.
"If you need anything, ask Eri. She knows where everything in the house is. It's 5 in the morning, and I need more sleep," Izumi said as she walked out and closed the door behind her.
The footsteps travelled away before stopping for about five minutes, continuing for a few steps and then ceasing.
Eri and Hinami spent the next few hours talking and catching up, mainly talking about their experiences with the Shie Hassaikai, Eri with the experiments and Hinami with the isolation and partial starvation. The two little girls spent that time on the bed and eventually fell back to sleep, much to both Izumi and Ayato's delight when they woke up at half past 9 in the morning.
"Come on, girls, wake up," Izumi said, shaking them awake.
The girls groaned and got up reluctantly, stretching and cracking their joints. This was followed by both of them walking in on Izumi doing similar stretches but also stretching so far she did a Dio pose until her back could be heard popping. She then corrected her posture and walked over to the fridge, got a serving of meat, ate, then walked out of the door to go and pick up Kiyoko from Touka and Kaneki, who took time off work to look after her.
"So, I'm stuck babysitting my adopted daughter and her biological cousin for the time being." Ayato said, "Come to think of it, I kind of want to compare your kagune."
"I don't mind Uncle Ayato," Hinami said
They followed him outside to a clearing with enough space to unleash their gigantic kagune.
Eri, being only 3 foot 7, unleashed hers first, a set of four cream Koukaku petals burst from below her shoulders, forming what could be mistaken as wings at a second glance, then her rinkaku about 50 feet long, paired, red with cream casings resembling a spine with metallic grey spikes on the inside and curving forward towards the tip, with what appeared to be red eyes on each segment of the rinkaku and in the middle of each koukaku.
Hinami standing taller at 4 foot 10, and being 14, double Eri's age, released hers next. They share much in similarity with Eri's but had a more yellow tinge as opposed to the cream of Eri's. The differences were that while Eri's had a continuous cream colour, Hinami's were mainly white with the strong yellow tinge around the edges and the eyes on the kagune as well as lacking the spikes for the time being.
"Just wait till Tou sees this. She would tackle you, Hinami, you have no idea how much she's missed you." Ayato said, smiling.
At just that moment, Izumi and Touka came along, Izumi carrying Kiyoko, but Touka was dragging Kaneki by his collar because he was still asleep at 10 in the fucking morning.
"Oh my, Hinami's kagune are amazing. They're just like Eri's," Izumi said, gobsmacked because she had only seen them in the dark and even then couldn't see them properly.
"Wait, Hinami," Touka said, letting go of Kaneki's collar and running to Hinami.
This culminated in Hinami getting tackle-hugged by Touka, Eri staring in utter confusion, and Izumi and Ayato have their focus set on Kaneki, who is still asleep.
"Oh, how I've missed you, little Hina," Touka said
The whole debacle was solved when Izumi gave Kiyoko to Ayato, pried Touka off of Hinami, and threw Touka at Kaneki, who was now awake and ended up catching her but got pushed to the floor. Izumi then went back to Ayato, retook Kiyoko, and offered Hinami to hold her to which Hinami gladly accepted, knowing how to hold a baby instinctively as she had had experience with baby Eri. Hinami sat cross-legged on the grass onto which a picnic mat had been placed, with the small baby who had stopped crying once given to her cradled against her chest, with Izumi sitting behind Hinami,hugging her with her kagune wrapping around them, a flowing river of red and purple waving like fire stretching out into the surroundings.
A few hours later. The grownups had been gossiping and catching up, explaining what happened. The younger girls had fallen asleep, and, as such, Izumi and Ayato were the ones who had to carry them home, Izumi carried Hinami, who was still holding Kiyoko, and Ayato carried Eri basically giving her a piggyback ride.
"Are you sure you want to be Hinami's guardians." Izumi said to Touka and Kaneki.
"Absolutely, she calls us big sister and big brother," Touka and Kaneki said calmly.
"I can vouch for you on that. She called Yato, uncle," Izumi said.
"Alright, I'll pick her up at the end of the week once it's finished." Touka said.
"Maybe we should start her off as a Vigilante like all of us," Kaneki suggested.
"That's a good idea. She will be registered in the agency but will be working with you two," Izumi said
"Bye, you two," Kaneki said, waving as he walked off, dragging Touka.
"See you," Ayato said.
The carrier duo turned to face each other.
"They are most definitely going to have problems if Touka decides she wants kids," Izumi commented
"What do you mean," asked Ayato
"Neither of them can eat human food. She would have to force herself to eat human food," replied Izumi
"So she would have to weaken herself to keep the development of the child stable," said Ayato
"Exactly," Izumi stated
"How do you know," Ayato asked
"Mother had to undergo the same thing, so did I, but for me, I had to do the opposite, eat humans so my body didn't deteriorate," Izumi revealed
"So your parents did their research," Ayato
"How do you think Auntie Eto was born? Her father was a ghoul. Her mother was a human. That's how I knew what to do," Izumi said as if Ayato was stupid (which he kind of is).
"We should go. It's getting dark, and I have to patrol while you deal with the girls," Ayato commented on the time
"Okay, we shall go," Izumi replied,
They walked home and set the older girls to sleep while gently getting Kiyoko out of Hinami's arms. Ayato talked for a bit, did their thing with Kiyoko, feeding, changing, etc. They then went to sleep, Kiyoko obviously sleeping on Izumi as she had a full night sleep without interruption.
