That entire week, his mind was consumed by one replaying moment. And it involved Akira, but it didn't bring the usual annoyance or dread, it made him excited. He didn't want to get it out of his head anyways, it was all too good. When his mind was idle, he'd catch himself wearing a stupid smile at the thought.
"Helloo- Is that all for me?" Maria interrupted with a wink at his smile, a pang of guilt hit Kayden's chest because it wasn't. He grabbed a box from her trembling hands, lightening the load she was carrying. She'd asked him if he had time on Saturday to help her move files to her room, she said it was important that she filled all of them out by the end of the semester for her internship class.
"Hi darling" he lightened up, kissing her on her cheek.
They walked along the frosty path, the bare trees creaked quietly above them to the shivering cold breeze that blew through the morning air.
"They said there was going to be a storm today" she said, also looking up at the angry sky.
"Really? I'm supposed to go to Klause's birthday party later down to the ice rink"
"You're going ice skating during a storm?" she asked in concern.
Kayden pondered if he really was going ice skating in a storm or not, the idea sounded bad now. but it was for Klause, the guy had it rough this semester so he let out a chilly exhale, nodding.
"Well..its indoors, it shouldn't be that bad" she thought out loud, she was always making sure he was alright that way.
"I'm not your kid" he chuckled at her worry rat demeanor.
"You are, you're my baby" she pouted, bumping him playfully with her shoulder. They carried the boxes to the booth outside her dorms, he assumed he'd have to let her carry it by herself because of the guard but the one on rotation today walked over to them with half interest.
The blonde didn't expect the guard to actually let him in, so as they walked to her dorm, he felt his heart begin to race due to the last memory he had here. Nothing was going to happen, Maria has a roommate, he told himself. He continued to overthink as she put down the box at her foot, unlocking the door. He felt a wave of relief wash over him as he saw her roommate at her desk, scrolling leisurely on her phone with an open laptop in front of her. He wasn't sure why he was being so tense.
Maria hummed as she entered, Kayden following behind her and putting the box where she pointed to.
"Kelsey" Maria chirped, skipping over to her roommate, "Don't you have Literature to attend?"
Uh oh. Kayden felt his stomach plunge in warning.
"Oh- shit- I'm late-" she stuttered, jumping out of her chair and throwing objects in her backpack. She halted to a stop in front of Kayden as she almost ran into him, just recognizing his presence.
"Oh- hello" she stuttered, staring up at him.
Kayden nodded awkwardly at her flushed panicked face that briefly shut off, the switch flicked on again as she continued to violently throw on her shoes and run out the door.
"That girl is a complete mess" Maria winced as the door closed with a slam.
"Right," Kayden said, fighting the urge to leave the room, being alone with Maria was going to give him a stroke because of his blood pressure. She moved closer to him, pressing up against his front in a hug, circling her hands behind his back. He moved slowly, unsure, as he rested a hand on her hip, fiddling with her jean loop.
"How may I help you?" he smiled as she looked up at him. Her eyes were unreadable, but he felt her hands tighten around him, trapping him where he stood. He swallowed nervously, the feeling of her breasts pressed up against his chest was distracting him. He mirrored her lead, her hands sliding up his back while his hands moved down to her hip, near her bare skin where her top ended.
