It's a pleasure to not meet you, he thought, face scrunched in his head.

This new roommate was nothing interesting, he thought. After having the dorm to himself for a couple of months, Kayden felt the itchy scratch of annoyance at the news that he was being assigned a roommate. He wasn't interested in it so he hadn't given it much thought until the day the person was supposed to move in.

At first impression he was short and skinny, after hearing that he was actually older than himself, it left Kayden even more confused about him. He could have passed for way younger than the blonde. He was mostly nonexistent on the first day since he fell asleep after their meeting, but something about him bothered Kayden from the start.

Akira was short, his hair was fluffy and jet black, framing his pale face and covering his ears and forehead. His eyes were dark with amber, face filled with little moles or freckles or something here and there. The blonde will deny it if asked but Akira reminded him of a teddy bear.

Kayden wasn't walking around screaming insults at every gay person on the planet. In fact, the number of nancy boys he'd interacted with were incredibly low. They usually gave his group a wide berth, sometimes literally. But even so, he thought it was only natural to be disgusted. It was only natural to be uncomfortable and nauseated by 2 people of his own gender grinding on each other.

Which was what was occurring when they ran into each other the second time and there was really where it got worse. It wasn't pleasant. Akira was high, easy to tell since his eyes were red-rimmed and bloodshot, he was outside their dorm, shamelessly about to fuck a guy right on the door. He never understood gay guys, there was nothing about a guy's dick that was attractive nor their body. It was an alien idea, an appalling one, there had to be something wrong with them. Something about the whole thing was reminiscent of two puzzle pieces that didn't fit together because they were from 2 completely different fucking puzzles.

He hadn't expected retaliation from someone like him but it was a genuine surprise. See, he was weird like that. Kayden wasn't sure what to do with someone who'd take two Gatorade bottles to the face and still want to fight. That's fucking self-destructive, he thought mindlessly as he doodled over the graph he was supposed to be labeling, glancing once at the teacher that was drawling over the same topic from an hour ago.

He was usually easygoing, but Akira just left a sour taste in his mouth.

He trotted down the dorm hall after, with the intention of submitting some forms for his winter matches. It wasn't like he sought him out to mess with him or anything, the raven just happened to be there slowly buckling down the walk with a box of papers towards their room. Which was another problem because after becoming roommates, he was suddenly all over the place, like a background character getting the spotlight for the first time in Kayden's TV show. He did the only thing that was an option, jutting out his foot which resulted in Akira falling face-first into the box. Unfortunately, it didn't tip over and spill the papers like he'd seen it in his mind but it was funny either way.

"Must you be an asshole this early in the day" he heard him growl before throwing a crunched-up ball of paper at the back of Kayden's head. He missed by a lot.

If he had to think about it, he wasn't usually an asshole of that sort. He just liked messing with Akira, the faces he'd make when Kayden said a no-no word or the salty remarks he'd receive. If you ask any guy, Kayden supposed, would they rather room with a gay or another straight guy, that would be your answer. They were all perverts, pitiful guys that couldn't pick up girls or wanted to be one. His thought bubble mentally popped as Fritz sat down next to him, setting down a box of greasy, unhealthy food.
