Brothers, I Think I Have A Crush (Kongkwan-Fon)

III - You Create Your Own Luck

Upon hearing the trade offer, Chen was going to reach out to Neau's hand to get the paper when suddenly his friend intervened.

Go: "Wait, you're really going to trade an easy A in Chemistry with the nerd who will most likely do all the work while you do nothing for a dumb cheerleader who I have a feeling doesn't know the chemical symbols of Sodium nor Potassium?" he tried to put some rationalization towards his friend's brain. Sky was about to grab his collar when Neua once again stopped him.

Neua: "It's true, you may get an A easily with Kongkwan. But, when will you have an opportunity to become this close to Prao ever?" holding his pointer and middle finger together and crossing it together.

Sky: "True. And I heard, if she gets a good grade in this subject which is one of her lowest ones, her dad will let her have a new car. Who knows how she can repay you for your good deed in giving her a good grade. According to my teammates in the football field; she is quite a "generous" person if you know what I mean." he smirked at Chen who didn't need another second in thinking before snatching the paper for Neua and handing him the paper that had Kongkwan's name on it as the older twin checked the name just to be sure.

Neua: "Pleasure doing business with you." he smiled triumphantly before turning away to return to the other side of the table along with Sky who followed him but turned to the two gamers once more and gave them each a smack on the head which caught the two boys by surprise.

Sky: "That's for calling Kongkwan a "Nerd". Never call her that again." he gave them a warning glare before sitting in front of their still shell-shocked sibling who can't believed what she just witnessed.

Fon: "What did you two just do?"

Neua: "Uhhhh... Helping you?"

Fon: "You guys shouldn't have done that?"

Sky: "What? Help you?"

Fon: "I mean... One of them is threatening others to get what you want?" she didn't know if she should be disappointed by her brothers' actions or happy that they are fully supporting her and trying to help her get closer to her crush.

Neua: "It wasn't threatening per se. It was a business transaction. A trade if you will. Just forget what Sky said earlier." remembering his twin mentioning the "dodgeball" and "new prescription" sentence.

Fon: "I still feel it wasn't right." still hesitant in taking the paper from his eldest brother's hand that was infront of her.

Sky: "Don't be. Everyone wins in that trade. Gamer boy over there get to live out his wet dream fantasy and you get to be close and personal with the girl you had a crush on for a year apparently." sporting a proud smile on his face knowing he is right which he knows he isn't always is.

Fon: "It isn't fate."

Neua: *sighs* "Remember what dad keeps telling us, Sis.? "You have to create your own luck. You have to be aware of the opportunities around you and take advantage of them.""

Fon: "You know dad took that from Bruce Lee right?"

Sky: "That's why dad is a badass! He learned from the best." he then tried to imitate some of Bruce Lee's hand movements but poorly failed but for what its worth, it did put a smile on his siblings' faces so he felt fulfilled by it.

Neua: "My point is, Sky and I saw an opportunity and we took it for you and now, this is your chance to take advantage of it. Don't rely on fate or luck. Create it."

Fon looked at her brothers' encouraging smiles and slowly took the small paper and saw the name of the girl she's been longing to talk to for a while now but doesn't have the courage to do so. She nodded towards them which led to cheerful pats on the back from her brother which was playful at first but became a little bit harder after a few seconds so the youngest sibling began to punch them a little harder to let them stop the teasing but not hard enough to bruise until they stopped when they heard the professor calling their attentions before going back to to the students on the line in front of him.

Fon: "Thanks for this." showing the paper. "And for standing up for Kongkwan, telling them not to call her a "nerd", it was nice of you Sky."

Sky: "Hey, I may be slow at times but the 2 sharp elbows this morning you gave me. I got the message, sis. I apologize."

Fon knew she was blessed to have such sweet siblings than even though they should have a reputation since they are jocks in the school. They are never shy nor embarrass to show their  affectionate side towards their princess of a sibing in public and not just their protectiveness towards her.

After a few more minutes, the professor got all their attention and told those who have picked up names to head to their partners and sit beside them.

With one final silent encouragement from her brothers, Fon took her stuff and slowly headed towards Kongkwan who was still busy writing something on her notebook and only stopped scribbling as soon as she felt someone sitting beside her and felt books set beside her own.

Kongkwan turned her face and was once again face to face with the girl who have helped her earlier in the halls.

Both girls haven't spoken for a few seconds and they felt a little awkwardness during that time until Fon saw Neua a little further behind Kongkwan gesturing for her to "breathe in and out", so she did before opening her mouth once again ang thankfully her voice came back.

Fon: "H-Hi, I guess I am your partner in this project." she stammered at her words and wanted to hit herself with her Chemistry book because of it.

Kongkwang: "Oh what a coincidence. I-I mean, g-great. Don't worry, I can do this project in my sleep. You don't have to worry about anything." as she was looking through the page the professor was currently assigning to the whole class.

Fon actually wasn't looking forward to it because she wanted to prove to the girl beside her that she can actually help and contribute to their project and not just let Kongkwan take all the responsibility and make her do all the work. She is not that kind of person. And if they finish the project immediately, it means she'll have a lesser time to talk to her crush and they won't get to know each other enough if it ends quickly so she has to be strategic towards this too.

Fon: "NO!" she exclaimed while holding onto Kongkwan's arm.
