Seeing the 3 boys enter the house, Kongkwan and Fon decided to roam around the pond and stroll around the ranch whilst waiting for them.
Both girls were enjoying the sun and the weather especially Kongkwan who Fon realized is an outdoors kind of girl. Kongkwan was talking that during summer vacations, where her and her mom would go to countrysides around the country to stay for a few days and just enjoy the fauna and flora around them; even going on nature hikes and mountain climbing at times.
While Fon told Kongkwan that her, her brothers always look forwards to summer breaks because them and their parents would usually take trips out of the country during those times as their parents work hard all year long with limited time spent together at home since they usually travel from city to city or sometimes to different countries as they are both business man and woman. So during summer, that is usually the time where their parents would clear their schedules and everyone is free from work, school, sports and other extra-curricular activities and celebrate their annual summer vacation for their quality family bonding.
Kongkwan: "What is it like growing up with siblings?" she asked as they were slowly circling the pond just enjoying the fresh air and sunshine whilst waiting for the twins and Tor to return.
Fon: "Honestly, mostly a pain in the ass." she chuckled. "But, I can't imagine a life without them you know? They have always been there for me especially since not having mom and dad around the house most times and they always have my back no matter what." she smiled looking at the ground thinking of her older siblings and how much she appreciates them regardless of how annoying they can be in most days.
Kongkwan: "Hmmm.. I can see that your sibling relationship is strong and unbreakable. You are blessed." she smiled at the shorter girl.
Fon: "Thanks." smiling back. "Have you ever wished you had siblings?" asking quietly not sure if it is appropriate asking Kongkwan that but her mouth got the better of her and she blurted it out before she got to stop herself.
Kongkwan: "Sometimes when I get lonely at home if mom is at work or when I see siblings in public enjoying each other's company. But when my dad left my mom and I when I was 5 years old, I saw how much my mom had to go through just to provide for both of us and make sure I lived comfortably. So I was also grateful that I am an only child, because I can't imagine how much work mom will have to go through if there were 3 of us to feed and 2 of us to study."
Fon nodded as she was satisfied with the older girl's answer. She was about to ask another question when Kongkwan spoke once again.
Kongkwan: "That's actually why I always study hard and strive hard to get good grades. Because once I apply for college and they get to see my credentials with high marks, hopefully that will get me a scholarship to a good school so mom won't have to think of my tuition fee for the next 4 years you know? So I really don't care if people in school actually see me as a "nerd". Because I am looking at the bigger picture that is more important than the social status I have been perceived at in a school full of adolescent teenagers with no clear perception of their futures just yet. I am doing this for me and my mom's future."
Kongkwan didn't realized that she had rambled too much just by a simple question asked by her classmate who has now stopped walking and just stared at her, digesting everything that Kongkwan had just said.
Kongkwan: "I'm sorry. I think I said a little too much." she awkwardly chuckled.
Fon: "N-no. Not at all. It's the first time I heard you speak this long that isn't school-related. I-I mean, it's great seeing you being open to your feelings. Makes me learn more about you." she sent a warm smile at her crush. "You're mom's lucky to have you as her child and I am sure she is proud of you because you are a hardworker and it shows through your excellent grades so far, making you the smartest student in our class. Nevermind what others say in school, what matters is how you see yourself. And believe me, not everyone in school sees you as a "nerd" ok? I don't. And my brothers along with Tor don't either"
