This season picks up 2 months later now at the end of summer. Senior year is here for most of the characters in Lynview- a time to grow up, forget, forgive, dream, learn and love one more time before adulthood comes a knockin. People come together...
Kent sits at the kitchen table he's watching a video on his iPad. It's the 2019 NBA finals.
Tony the butler is making breakfast and Garret enters the kitchen.
GARRET- how many times are you going to watch the replay of that? What are you a Kawhi fan now?
KENT- he's okay...I just like that no one expected the Raptors to win. I like the underdog.
Garret shrugs.
GARRET- did you unpack from Italy yet?
KENT- (annoyed) we just got back like a hour ago.
GARRET- three hours and no back talking go unpack.
KENT-Okay cool.....and when I'm done are you going tell me about my mom?

GARRET- What?
KENT- I want to know about my mom, Dad. I want to know what she looks like....how she was....I feel so different from every other kid Im around and I'm tired of that especially with me about to start at another new school.
GARRET- you don't fit in with other kids because yes you are different. You are the son of a retired NBA player....you were born with an iron will, a drive a determination that separates you from everyone else.
Kent looks at Garret full of rage.
GARRET- and let's not act like it's not your fault you're starting another school.
KENT- and why do you think that the one black kid is getting into fights everyday at the all white pompous schools you sent me to?
GARRET- what school do you expect to go to Kent? You want to walk in a school in the "hood" or something? You'll really be Garret Davis son then.
KENT- Stop making this about you! This has nothing to do with that.
GARRET- so tell me what it is then Kent?
KENT- You have me around a bunch of white kids with their white families and hell even our white family...I'm not them and I feel out of place....I want to know what my other side is like.....why I look the way I do.
GARRET- none of that stuff matters....why are you worried about what other people think? Be a man...haven't I taught you that?!
KENT- I'm fucking fifteen!
Garret rushes from around the kitchen counter and grabs Kent.
GARRET- watch your tone.
TONY THE BUTLER- Mr.Davis.
Garret still holds Kent by his shirt Kent looks back at him pride mixed with fear. Garret lets him go.
