INT. CARTER HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - FLASHBACK
Neal and Tavon are playing a video game. And Taylor sits in between them scrolling on her phone.
TAYLOR- We should go to Tionna backyard party.
NEAL- Why?
TAYLOR- because a lot of kids from school will be there.
TAVON- Like who? Justinnn
Neal laughs. Taylor rolls her eyes embarrassed a little.
TAYLOR- and Shamia.
TAVON- that's not a plus.
TAYLOR- I know y'all aren't crazy about her but she's my bff too.
NEAL- T y'all stopped being friends in the fifth grade.
TAVON- and you don't need her anyway when you got us.
TAYLOR- sometimes I like to hang out with other girls because this (pointing to the video game) is what y'all do all day. Sometimes I want to do girly stuff.
NEAL- like what?
TAYLOR- like go to a party and lipgloss and nails and I don't know just stuff.
Neal and Tavon pause for a minute and then burst into laughter.
TAYLOR- what is funny?
TAVON- T you don't care about any of that stuff.
TAYLOR- Yes I do.
NEAL- (laughing) no you don't.
TAYLOR- I'll just go to the party by myself.
TAVON- bro come on we're just joking.
TAYLOR-whatever it's fine.
Taylor leaves.
EXT. TIONNA'S BACKYARD - NIGHT
Taylor now changed into a more girly fit walks into the party with Shamia. The backyard has a huge speaker blasting music and it's juice and water bottles packed inside coolers. It's pre teens all around partying.
TAYLOR- do I look okay?
SHAMIA- Yes you look cute.
TAYLOR- okay I wasn't sure if I should do the pink dress instead.
SHAMIA- the blue skirt was better I'm telling you....so are you gonna dance on Justin?
TAYLOR- I gotta do that?
Shamia rolls her eyes.
SHAMIA- Yes girl damn don't you want to do anything.
TAYLOR- I need some water.
Taylor walks over to one of coolers and and grabs a water.
SMILEY-(o.s) T!
Taylor turns around and Dante "Smiley" Harrison very handsome and life of the party kids surround him with the biggest smile on his face stands across the yard.
TAYLOR- (smiling) Smiley?
They walk to meet each other in the middle and they hug.
TAYLOR- I thought you moved away for the summer?
SMILEY- I did but Tionna asked me to this party and you know that's cuzo so.
Taylor smiles.
TAYLOR- oh Neal and Tae are going to be so upset they missed this.
