*.•Ao'nung POV•.*

I open my eyes to see a warrior from my village standing over me with a worried look on his face. "He's awake! Can you hear me boy?" I hear a very quiet and distant voice emerge from her mouth as she gestures to somebody I can't see.

"Where am I?" I hate how soft and quiet my voice sounds, or at least to my ears. "We are on one of the islands, we found you in the ocean but an akula came. We must wait before we can bring you back to the village" I stare blankly at the woman as she explains what has happened.

I look past the warrior, doing my best to focus my eyes on the surroundings. The rain is still pouring, if not more aggressively than before. "What happened with the akula?" I turn and look at the warrior once again, her trying to check my vitals.

"Not much, we managed to get you out of the water in time, though you already had a nasty gash on your arm" she scrunches up her face and looks over to my right arm. I follow her gaze to look at my arm, which looks even worse than before.

I push myself off the sand with my other arm, trying to stand up. "You shouldn't stand up" the warrior places a hand on my chest and pushes me back down onto the sand. "Who's we?" I look back up to her and she gestures over to another warrior who is standing on the edge of the island, probably watching for the akula.

"How long do you think it will take until we can go back?" I look back over to the warrior and see her look over to the water before turning back to face me. "At least an hour until the akula will be gone" she reaches into her pouch and takes out some bandages to wrap them around my arm.

"Try to stay awake" I only now notice how heavy my eyes are getting when the warrior points out that they are closing. "Sorry" I take a deep breath in and try to widen my eyes a bit more, to keep myself awake.

"Ao'nung?" I open my eyes in confusion, I don't even remember closing them. I see Neteyam sitting cross-legged in front of me, we are on the rock where I taught him sign language. He smiles at me, god i've missed that smile, and puts a hand on my shoulder. "Neteyam? Where are we?" I look around and try understand how I got here. "Ma'nung you have to go back!" he yells at me, slapping my head. "Please wake up!" another voice echoes around me, I try to find the owner of the  voice and suddenly, it all goes dark again.

I open my eyes yet again, this time, we are riding over the water on a tsurak. We being me and one of the warriors from earlier. "Ao'nung, we are almost back in the village" the warrior seems to notice that I have regained consciousness, as I am being held up against his chest.

After a couple of minutes I feel the warrior lift me up and he carries me up the beach, towards what I can only assume will be either the medics marui or my family's marui. "My son! Bring him inside!" so, the medic's marui. I can feel myself being carefully placed onto an uncomfortable mat.

I can see blurry trails of healers walking around me, doing different things to try and 'heal' me. I can hear their muffled and distant voices, telling eachother what to do, asking me to stay awake, telling the warrior to go get someone.

"Son, can you hear me?" turning my head to face the sound, I see my father crouching down next to me with a worried expression. I don't remember leaving the medics marui, but I am in what I believe is my family's marui. The mat I am lying on is noticeably softer than the one I was placed on earlier.

"Ao'nung? Hello?" I get pulled back to reality as my father tries to catch my attention again. My eyes flicker back over to his face and I clear my throat to try and speak. "Yes I can hear you" my voice is so incredibly raspy that he can barely understand what I am saying.

I am about to lift myself up but feel stinging in my arm, I look down and see it completely bandaged up. "When will I be able to hunt again?" I look over at my dad who frowns, looking down. "I don't know about hunting, but you can probably swim again in a week or so" I nod and curse under my breath at the long wait time.

"You can leave by tomorrow lunch, though with a sling" my father reads my mind and answers the unspoken question. "Thank you father" I adjust my position a bit, trying to lie in a way that doesn't make my arm feel like it is on fire.

"You should get some rest son, in a couple of hours your friends will want to see you" I nod and close my eyes, looking forwards to seeing one friend in particular.

Well, friend?

I'm not that good at writing this kind of chapters, I don't know how to write injury and stuff but yeah. I hope you enjoyed, thank you for reading and have a nice day/night! 💙
