You're enough (Neteyam x Ao'nung)

Chapter 10 : Miscommunication

I walk on the pathways connecting the marui, on my way to the Sully pod, I am going to hang out with Neteyam before training today. "Hey bro! What's up?" I look up and see Rotxo and my friends walking towards me. "Hey guys! What are you doing?" I haven't talked to these guys in a couple of days because I have been too busy with training the Sullys.

"We were gonna go hunt! Wanna come?" I nod and follow them into the water as we make our way to the Ilu pens. "What is she doing?" I turn my head and see Kiri lying face down in the water.

"Is she a freak?" I speak out loud as we approach the girl. "huh?" she stands up out of the water and stares at me confused. "I asked if you were some kind of freak" I stare at her as she starts walking away, shaking her head.

"no" she continues walking away, not wanting to get into trouble with us. "Are you sure? I mean, you're not even real na'vi" I knew I crossed a line as soon as I said it but I can't help myself. I grab her hand and parade it off to my friends.

"Back off fish lips!" Lo'ak rushes towards me and pushes me away from his sister. "Oh look, another four-fingered freak!" I refer to his hand and see his expression darken.

"baby tail!" one of my other friends start making fun of his tail and I laugh along. Before I know what hit me, Neteyam runs towards us and pushes me back. "You heard what he said! Leave them alone! Back off, now!" I can't read the expression on his face as he says this.

"Oh! Big brother come and-" I stop my friend who is trying to make fun of Neteyam by holding my hand out in front of him. I wait for a second before giving Neteyam a smirk and putting my hands up in defeat. "Come on, let's go" he puts his hand over Lo'ak's head to make him start walking away, though reluctantly.

"Freaks" one of my friends chuckles as he says this and points after the three Omaticaya. "Bro?" Neteyam turns around to look at his brother who has stopped walking. "I got this bro" Lo'ak reassures his brother and starts walking towards me.

"I know this hand looks funny" he holds up his hand and shoves it in front of my face. "Look, I'm a freak. Alien" he holds onto his finger and shows it to me. "But I can do something really cool, watch" against my better judgement, I am quite curious what will happen.

"First, I ball it up real tight like this... then..." he punches me in the face three times until I am sitting in the sand. I stand up and run at him as fast as I can, tackling him to the ground.

He knocks me to the side and one of my friends pull his tail. Soon enough me and my three friends are knocking the consciousness out of Lo'ak. Out of nowhere, somebody runs at me and tackles me to the ground. They start punching me in the face.

When they stop for a moment I notice that it is Neteyam, and he narrows his eyes as if only just noticing it was me. He continues punching me until one of my friends pull him off of me by his tail.

I hiss at my friend who just looks at me confused. "Lo'ak! Neteyam! What are you doing" we look over and see JakeSully watching the fight from a distance. I immediately see Neteyam's face drop, and I see Lo'ak look down in shame.

At the same time I notice my father standing next to Jake and bow my head as I approach him as well. "Ao'nung! What were you thinking boy?" my father grabs the base of my queue and I hiss in pain.

I look up and see JakeSully dragging his two sons with him. "I am sorry father" he pulls me with him to the marui by my queue. "You are going to apologize to that boy right now" he lets go of my queue and throws me into wall to which I nod.

I leave the marui and start walking to the Sully's one. On the way I accidently walk into someone, and it is the one and only, Lo'ak. "Hey, I was coming to apologize to you" I mutter as I look down at him. "I was coming to do the same, I'm sorry for punching you, so many times" I roll my eyes at this remark and try to think of something I can invite him to do.

"hey bro, wanna go hunting?" I turn around and see my friends walking up to me and I nod in response. "The, forest boy, can come as well. We are gonna go outside the reef" Enapí looks past me at Lo'ak who looks unsure. "No way bro my dad would never let me!" he is about to walk away when one of my friends say something to change his mind. "I guess we are asking the wrong brother then".
