class dragged on forever. it was long, boring, and quite frankly; it sucked.
however, the bell for lunch finally rang, freeing you from cramming your head with knowledge that wouldn't be useful in the future.
looking up from the drawing you were doing on your hand, you made eye contact with Himari and the two of you stood up, walking out of the classroom without a second glance.
"man, that was extra boring," you commented, as Himari nodded her head in agreement.
"i know! so, what did you learn?" she asked the second half in a mocking tone, causing you to roll your eyes and push her playfully.
"wow, where to start! let's see.. i learned jack shit," you replied, making her giggle.
spotting your friends, Airi, Sora, Riku, and Minato, you walked over them with a smile, while Himari just scowled over your shoulder.
Airi saw you first, her long blonde hair flowing down to her waist. her bangs were clipped back, exposing her heterochromatic eyes.
Sora and Riku then caught you in their line of sight, waving you over. they were twins; Sora had black choppy hair stopping at her jawline, with small eyeliner wings surrounding her piercing green eyes.
Riku, who was at least a head taller than his sister, had a buzzed mop of black hair. he wanted to have it fluffy and short ish, but his hair was much too untamed to do that.
his mother gave him the option of a buzz cut; or a bowl cut. so he opted for the buzz.
he smiled toothily in your direction, his light blue braces poking out from his parted lips.
Minato, the tallest of the group, only nodded his head in your direction, his lips forming a straight line. Minato wasn't one for conversations, and he cursed himself out when he got his tattoo, quickly finding it was a major conversation starter.
his tattoo was of a phoenix, snaking around his back with the head and beak resting below the left side of his jaw.
as you walked up to them, you greeted them with a kind smile and stuck up a conversation, all the while having Himari stand slightly behind you, stealing glances at Minato.
everyone could tell she liked him; except for him. although you thought they would click easily due to their similar personalities, they hardly spoke a word to each other.
they were awkward and not able to start a conversation, so whenever they were left alone it was dead silent.
the six of you looked for an empty table, and you rushed over to one to claim it for the group.
as everyone sat down and began enjoying their lunches, playful banter and light chatter was heard by anyone in earshot.
Himari stayed to herself beside you, only speaking when you asked her a question.
she didn't mind the group you made, but she wasn't particularly fond of them either. other than Minato, they were all almost as loud as you and that caused annoyance to raise for Himari.
"oh, i'm getting a new skateboard soon!" you exclaimed, remembering the exciting fact.
before anyone else could answer, Riku spoke up while holding in laughter.
"who," "who what?" you asked, confused as to what that had to do with your question.
..asked?" he said, smirking as you sighed, unimpressed by the middle school level joke.
"no one," you shot back, continuing to talk and simultaneously ignoring Riku's lame sense of humour.
he sat there frozen, sulking from the lack of response.
