"Keisuke, is this your girlfriend? how come you've never talked about her?"
you laughed at her words, shaking your head as Baji stood with a bright blush on his face from embarrassment.
"no, i'm just his friend," you started, "my names Vera, it's nice to meet you," she sighed, as if disappointed, but nonetheless introduced herself and the two of you shook hands, smiling warmly.
Baji's mother then looked down at his hands, seeing the kitten he was holding.
"another cat? really?" she sighed in annoyance, and Baji just grinned at her.
"uh, is this, like, a regular thing?" you asked slowly, wondering what her words meant. she turned to you, laughing. "he's found three stray cats in the last two months and brought them home. we just take them to a shelter after a bit," you laughed, nodding in understanding.
before you could speak to his mother further, Baji spoke up.
"alright, we're going upstairs," you looked at him, following him further into the house.
as his mother turned to leave as well, she put an arm on his shoulder and whispered, "she's cute," and walked off, leaving his face even more red while you laughed.
walking up the stairs, Baji led you into his room and you closed the door behind you.
you took a look around his room, spotting an electric guitar hanging up on the wall. around it was an amp and a few music books, and the rest of his room was covered in posters of bands.
"nice room," you commented, taking a seat on a chair in front of his desk. "thanks," he replied, setting the kitten down on his bed.
you watched as it curled up on a blanket, smiling softly as it did so.
the two of you made some conversation, occasionally checking up on the sleeping kitten.
"so, do you skateboard a lot?" Baji asked, as you stifled your laughter at his awkward attempt to strike up a topic.
"yeah, i use it to go pretty much everywhere. do you skate?"
he shook his head, grinning. "no, i have a motorcycle." your eyes widened, leaning forward in the desk chair.
"shit really? that's so cool!" he chuckled, speaking up slowly.
"would you wanna go for a ride sometime?" you nodded eagerly, and he smiled at your reaction.
you'd never been on a motorcycle before, but you always wanted to ride one. even more, you wanted to own one. but they were expensive, and you didn't have that type of disposable income.
the hours flew by quickly, as both of you got to know each other better.
it was fun talking to Baji; he was an interesting person and you wanted to be able to hangout with him more.
picking up your phone, you sighed, seeing as it was almost time for you to leave.
your mom wasn't very strict, but she had a rule that you had to be home for dinner unless you told her earlier in the day that you wouldn't be.
Baji looked up as you sighed, a questioning look on his features.
"i should probably head out, it's getting late." he nodded, rising from the bed and walking you to the front door.
as you were putting on your shoes and grabbing your belongings, Baji's mother walked passed and stopped to talk to you.
"leaving already?" she asked in a sweet tone, her head tilting slightly.
