(a/n: THE STORY'S BACK‼️‼️ i took a small break and ive got new ideas, so yeah! also i'm writing another book, it's a Mitsuya x oc/reader, so check it out if you want!)
picking an outfit was hard.
you were currently standing in front of a pile of clothes, filtering through the options while tapping your foot impatiently on the carpeted floor.
today was Saturday; which meant no school. but, there was one thing you had to do today.
and that was to visit Itsuki.
he would be getting out of prison soon, which was exciting.
but also terrifying.
you hadn't seen him other than behind a bulletproof window for no longer than an hour for three years. so that brought up some anxious feelings.
nonetheless, you focused on the task at hand, you decided on wearing a pair of black parachute pants, a gray cropped t-shirt with some grunge design on it, and an oversized zip-up hoodie.
lastly, you added some jewelry. sighing, you picked up your phone, wallet, and skateboard, heading out of your bedroom and going down the stairs.
seeing that your mom wasn't in the house, you stepped outside, seeing her smoking a blunt on the doorstep.
she looked up, smiling at you.
"hey hun, what's up?" her tone was sweet, and brought comfort to your ears.
"i'm going to visit Itsuki; i won't be gone too long."
she only nodded, watching as you hopped on the skateboard and flew down the road, headphones blasting music.
the prison was about an hour away, and you cursed yourself for not taking the bus.
before, when Itsuki was still under the legal age, he went to a juvenile detention centre which was much closer to your house.
but, you didn't mind, as it would take a lot more than a place farther away to keep you from visiting him.
with music echoing through your headphones, you kicked off of the ground to propel yourself further.
finally arriving at the prison, you kicked the skateboard up and caught it in one hand, placing the headphones on your neck and pushing open the front doors, the cold environment greeting you.
a security guard was standing somewhat close to you, and you walked up to him, requesting to see one of the inmates.
after the routine pat-down, he waved you through and you sat down at one of the seats that had small dividers between each of them, waiting for Itsuki to be spotted on the other side.
a large metal door screeched open, revealing yet another guard and your older friend.
Itsuki was very different from before he got arrested; his once long hair was cut super short, almost in a buzz cut.
all of his piercings were long gone, being replaced by small healed-over scars.
a snake tattoo curved down the right side of his face, beginning above his eyebrow and stopping near his collarbone.
it was safe to say he was a very different person; and not just looks-wise.
you smiled softly when Itsuki walked out, ignoring the hand cuffs that were on him. you knew he wasn't dangerous, but it was precaution that every inmate had to wear them.
Itsuki sat down, making eye contact with you and a grin spread across his face.
"hey, Vera! how's it going?" he asked in a bright tone. his happy attitude never wavered since he's been in there; sure there were hard times, but he didn't lose that part of himself.
