CHAPTER FOURTEEN
EMBARRASSMENTit was a long day at school for el today.
as the last bell of the day rang, signaling to the teenagers in the high-school that they can now finally go to wherever they pleased.as el was walking down the hall with the english books in her hands due to the thirty-question quiz ms.bribener decided the class should have, as of course, punishment for being disrespectful to the substitute-teacher. of course she gave them the same lecture every teacher has given at-least once. "never in my twenty-two years of teaching have i had a class as horrible as this!" ms. bribener cried.
el didn't pay any attention after that.as the brunette was walking while staring at the ground she didn't seem to notice the boy who was walking the opposite way as her, on his phone.
"shit!" they both yelled as soon as they bumped into each-other.
"i'm so sorry!" el says as she looks up to see a gorgeous curly-haired boy. the same curly haired boy she saw in the cafeteria!
"shit, no, you're all good," he reassures her.
"i saw you in the cafeteria the other day. didn't i?" she asks him as she scans his facial features. "he has a good jaw line," she thought.
"oh...? oh, ya you did, i saw you too"! he says awkwardly
"you we're staring at me." she blurts out,
"huh," he tilts his head, clearly confused.
"nevermind..." she smiled awkwardly.
"uhm, your books are on the ground," he points to the three now opened books on the ground.
"oh shit! i didn't notice," she nervously laughs as she bends down and quickly picks up her scattered books.
mike watches her, shuffling his feet to avoid any awkward tension.
el quickly stands up and smiles at him nervously,
"thank you for letting me know," she takes out her hand for him to shake it.
he immediately understands and shakes her hand, "ya, no problem," he scratches his head after.
"so.. what's your name?" el asks
"my name?" mike points to himself for reassurance.
el looks around their surroundings then back at him, "well, who else?" she laughs.
"right," he mumbles under his breath, "michael.." he sighs.
"eleanor!" she smiles from ear to ear.
"uhm.." the air between the two had gotten a tad bit weird.
"can i gave you my phone number?" she blurts out.
"sure..?" she nods and then quickly realizes that she doesn't have a pen on her nor a blank sheet of paper to write on either. "shit!" she thought.
"you good?" he asks worryingly, scared he did something wrong.
"i don't have a pen or piece of paper!" el cries
out."just tell me it, i'll memorize it," mike says.
"great! so it's seven seven three - three five three- eight nine twenty-one!" she looks up at the ceiling as she speaks because for some odd reason it helps her memorize things.
"great, i have to go, uhm, talk to you soon!" he says before he walks away.
