"SO THERE'S A MOMENT IN EVERY KID'S LIFE WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE ANYTHING'S POSSIBLE. When you feel like you've got the total mojo. You could, I don't know, free-climb El Capitan, land on Mars, or, uh... get elected president. The whole world's there for the taking if you've got the sack to go for it. And then when you least expect it, some kook shows up and tells you there's no eternal mystery. And then all that talk about free-climbing and Mars and the president... bullshit. Magic gets cancer and dies."
John B's shoulders slouched back along with the rest of the pogues who waited around the screen like a bunch of eager puppies scavenging for food, "It's not there, look- just pull the drone up."
Pope took a hand and rested it upon John B's right shoulder, "Look, we can do another pass, just recharge the battery and then we can go back down," he shook the hand off and walked towards the edge of the boat.
JJ rested his hand on the top of the boat, "We've done it three times, there's nothing there," fixing his red cap on his head to only be knocked off by Amelia who yelled shut up in his face, "What? It's true!" She sighed out in frustration along with her brother, John B, "The gold could be buried, we don't know."
"If it was there, it would've been found on the metal detector, okay? Somebody beat us to it," he walked over to his sister and hugged her tightly as she sobbed in his chest, this gold meant a lot to them and their father.
Amelia stared right at JJ as he muttered about the gold never being there under his breath, she broke out of his embrace and charged for JJ but was pulled back by Kiara, "Lia, don't." JJ just stood there with nothing to say and sailed them back to land.
John B and Amelia left the group to go home and rest since it was a long day already, to only be bombarded by somebody already sitting on their couch, "Hey, guys," the voice spoke from behind them, it was the social worker.
Amelia ran her fingers through her damp hair, "You know, Cheryl, it's kind of a bad time for a check-in, but we're fine thank you and goodbye," she huffed and went towards the fruit bowl to shove an apple in her mouth.
