I'm going out tonight, feeling good now you're outta my life ❞ ╝

AS DARKNESS ENVELOPS THE ISLAND, the moon rises high in the sky, casting a pale glow over the land. Its eerie light seeps into every corner and crevice, illuminating even the darkest of places.

As they approached the house, they couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The windows were boarded up, and the paint was peeling off the walls. Ivy crept up the sides of the house, almost completely obscuring the front door.

They were suddenly lit up by a motion sensor light that scorched their eyes, all taking cover behind a dying bush with panicked expressions, "Okay, so she has motion sensor lights," Pope said quietly and shakily.

JJ came up with a brilliant idea and decided to tell his friends to just move very slowly, every single one of them but him rolled their eyes at him because that's not how motion sensors work.

"Let's just throw a rock at it or something?" Amelia's brother said while she was borderline wanting to smack herself at his stupidity. As they crouched behind the tangled growth of a thick bush, the nighttime noises were magnified and ominous.

The rustle of leaves and the snap of twigs underfoot echoed through the darkness, making their hearts race with fear. "Yeah, that's a really good idea. Let the axe murderer know that we're here," Kiara complained.

In the distance, an owl hooted mournfully, breaking the eerie silence that hung over the deserted street, "Shit!" Amelia held her heart at the sudden noise coming from behind her, realising it was just an owl sitting peacefully in its tree.

Sarah grabbed the elastic from her wrist and put her hair up in a messy bun to avoid getting in her eyes, "What about the breaker? In the circuit box on the porch. We used to play hide-and-seek here as kids. And if we were brave enough, we'd go all the way up to the porch," her eyes darted to every single one of them, "I've seen it."

John B almost immediately denied her idea, "No, no way you're going in that house alone," pointing his finger at her but she smirked, "Watch me then."

JJ tutted and put his knees on the grassy ground because his calves were dying inside, "You know Crain chops people up, yeah?" Amelia who was in between Pope and Sarah looked at JJ while giggling silently, "She's like eight-five though, there's no way now she'd be able to do all that shit she used to do, she's probably barely still kicking."
