Summer vacation was amazing and other than a little sunburn, they had an amazing time in Washington. Stiles, Malia and Jackson took lots of pictures. They each got a scrapbook to put their photos in as well as a couple photo albums. Most of the time during their vacation, Stiles stuck close to his sister, his protectiveness over her making Peter smile. He's a good big brother.

They got lots of trinkets and souvenirs and more to take home with them. Stiles even asks Peter if he can get a really pretty necklace for Callie. Peter asks him,

> Why?

> She's my best friend and I love her. I know it's not a big love yet, but it might be one day. Even if it's never more than friends she loves lilies and I know she would love the necklace.

With the level of maturity Stiles is exhibiting Peter finds it easy to say yes. It is even more worth it to see the smile on the boy's face and the way he cradles it so carefully makes Peter melt.

They are all exhausted when they get home two weeks before school starts, and the adults are glad they planned for recuperation. They're going to need it and after all the excitement of their trip, it's nice to settle down and relax for the remainder of the summer.

Fifth Grade starts for the kids and Stiles is now doing sixth grade work while remaining in the same classroom with Malia and Callie. Today Stiles is reading The Maze Runner as Ms. Hartman checks over his work. Ms. Hartman is one of Stiles's favorite teachers ever. Her classroom is a safe space. She is a safe person, and he knows he can always come to her no matter what.

One day, seemingly out of nowhere, Stiles gets triggered during recess and manages to get into the classroom. Ms. Hartman has the corner ready when he reaches it, and she helps get him settled before letting Zuri do what the teacher can't.

The panic attack ends up causing Stiles to pass out. Zuri is vigilant and Ms. Hartman gets the nurse. That's how Stiles ends up in the nurse's office with a tummy ache and a headache. When Marie arrives to pick him up, he is sound asleep with Zuri laying over him protectively. After signing the papers, Marie scoops him up and takes him home.

Stiles doesn't get embarrassed much anymore because working with Doctor Bowen has taught him that he can't help it when he's triggered but what he can do is get to a safe place and reach out to his safety net or safety people. So that's what he does. As the second semester starts, he makes sure to bring special treats for Ms. Hartman for how amazing she has been as his teacher and not just academically.

She hugs him and thanks him.

> I will miss having you as my teacher.

Ms. Hartman smiles.

> I will be sad not to see you every day, but you can come by the classroom anytime. Okay?

> Really?

She nods.

> Really. Just because I won't be your teacher doesn't mean you can't ever see or talk to me again. I hope you will visit as often as you like. I look forward to seeing what all you will accomplish because I know you will do great things.

Stiles beams and hugs her again.

> I will. I promise.

It's now March and that means Stiles's tenth birthday is coming up. He's thought about this for a while now and there is one thing, he wants more than anything else in the entire world. So, on Saturday afternoon after lunch he goes up to his daddy.

> Daddy?

Peter smiles.

> What's up kiddo?

> I was wondering if you and mommy would go for a walk to the park with me please?

"Marie?" Peter calls out.

She pops her head in and Peter nods at Stiles.

> Stiles wants to go for a walk with us. Is that okay?

> Of course.

She offers her son a smile and pulls on her shoes while the two of them do the same.

The three of them head outside and Stiles leads them towards the park with a steady pace, his nerves obvious. Zuri is a solid grounding weight against his hip as they go and it's easier to breathe with her by his side. These are his parents, and they love him. He hopes they say yes.

They get to the park and Stiles sits on the picnic bench. With a deep breath he meets the gazes of his parents and chews his lip.

> I want to change my name. Could that be my birthday present? Please?

Peter squats down in front of him and Marie sits on the bench next to him.

> Change it to what sweetheart?

Stiles smiles.

> M-I-K-O. Miko. P-E-T-Y-R. Petyr. H-A-L-E. Hale. Miko Petyr Hale.

His cheeks are bright red, but his eyes are full of hope.

Peter sniffles.

> Are you sure?

Stiles grins and nods vigorously.

> Yes, Daddy. I'm positive.

Peter starts to cry softly and exchanges a look with Marie who grins at him knowingly. It's the easiest yes he's ever given.

Bright and early on the morning of Stiles's tenth birthday, April 8th, 2015, the Hales are down at the courthouse in the chambers of Judge Carter who was the one to oversee his adoption papers. They are given all new documentation and Stiles gets to put his past behind him. No more Stilinski because he is forever a Hale.

Malia and Jackson insist on celebrating and of course they get Stella to seal the deal with wide pleading Bambi eyes.

Peter chuckles and scoops up the littlest Hale placing a kiss on her cheek as he settles her on his hip. Marie drives them to the ice cream parlor and they all pile into a family booth. None of them can stop smiling.

A waitress comes over and takes their order. Jackson gets mint chocolate chip while Malia gets cookies and cream. Peter gets salty caramel and Marie gets orange sherbet. Last but not least Stiles gets Reese's peanut butter cups and helps Stella order her very own by herself and she gets bubblegum.

When their ice cream arrives, they all cheer and dig in. Stiles giggles and helps Stella clean up after she gets it all over her face. She melts into her brother's caretaking ministrations and Stiles sneakily gives Zuri a couple little dog treats from his bag.

It's the perfect thing to do in honor of what happened today. From now on, Stiles gets to go forward and greet each and every day as Miko Petyr Hale. Little Miko can't wait to see what the future holds for him and his family.
