My last class finished, and I was putting my books away in my locker. Yuna and I were going to see a movie today, just the two of us. I've been trying to cheer her up for the last week.

I feel bad because she's pouting, and I'm just getting a ride at being around her. We've been going to the cafe every day and walking home together.

I closed my locker when a refreshing voice called my name.

"Hey, Kai." I turned to the refreshing voice behind me.

"Hey, Yun...n...naa." I turned to see Yuna with another girl, "And friend?"

"Kai, this is Im Yeojin."

"Hi?" I said, confounded.

"I can't go to the movies today, but you should go with Yeojin. You two have a lot in common. She really sweet."

I looked at Yuna as she was smiling very hard. Her eyes were ready to pop out of her head with her excitement. I turned to Yeojin and gave her a sincere smile. "It's nice to meet you, Yeojin. Can I talk to Yuna in private, please?"

She just nodded. I grabbed Yuna's wrist and pulled her aside, "What are you doing?" I asked.

"I told you I would set you up with one of my pretty friends, right? Yeojin is one of my trustworthy friends. She's really amazing. I think you guys would be good together."

"Yuna. I'm not looking for a girlfriend."

"Can't you at least just try? I asked Yeojin, and she was interested. I think I talked you up a little too much." Yuna chuckled embarrassedly.

"Yuna, I'm very uncomfortable with this."

"Shouldn't you at least just try first?" She gripped my sleeve. "You were the one who told me I needed to leave my comfort zone."

I did say that. Curse me for being a genius. Of course, this would come and bite me in the butt. I took a deep breath. "Fine." It's just one date. How bad can it be?

Her face lights up. "Yay!" She jumped up and down like a child. She grabbed my hand and dragged me back to Yeojin.

"You two have fun." Yuna hugged Yeojin before running off.

Yeojin looked at me with a nervous smile. "Hey."

"Hi."

"This is awkward now." She nervously ran her hand through her hair.

"Should we get going?"

She nodded.

The movie was okay. It's supposed to be a comedy, but I didn't find it that funny. If Yuna had been here, she would have been laughing up a storm. She finds the slightest things funny, and her laugh is so loud that it draws attention. It would have been nice to watch this with her.

Yeojin was very quiet. She rarely talked unless it was about the movie. She tried to argue whenever I offered to pay for things. She said she didn't want popcorn when the movie started but kept eating out of my bucket. Not that I mind. I just found it cute. Yuna wouldn't do that. She would order her own popcorn then when she finished hers, she would start eating out of my bucket.

She would also get a slushie and finish it before the movie ends and then complains about having to use the bathroom and missing stuff.

Here I am, thinking about Yuna when I'm supposed to be on a date. I snapped out of my thoughts when a car honked. I'm walking Yeojin home because that's what a good date does. Even though I don't want to be here, I deserve to give Yeojin a good experience. She has been so lovely to me.

We walked in silence, a peaceful silence but awkward at the same time. There was a weird feeling in the air that didn't have an exact word to describe the feeling.

She suddenly spoke up. "You seem a bit uncomfortable."

I see she noticed. I shook my head, "No, it's just that this really came from nowhere, so it surprised me."

"Same. Yuna has been talking you up for the last month. She won't stop complement how nice of a guy you are."

"She does?" I said, surprised.

"Yeah. And now that I went out with you, I can see what she means. You're really nice."

"Listen," I sighed. "You seem nice, Yeojin, but I really don't know how to feel about this."

"Will this help you?" She placed her arms on my shoulders, leaned in, and left a soft lingering kiss on my lips. She was short, so she had to stand on the tip of her toes. I saw as she came closer and closed her eyes.

"I-I" No words came out of my mouth. I honestly didn't know what to say.

"Did you feel something?"

"I don't know."

"Well, when you find out, call me."

She went inside, closing the door.

I stood there, shocked. "What is happening?" I whispered.

Everything is happening too fast.
