Lightbulb's POV
I sat happily on the bed in my hotel room, kicking my legs back and forth.
I reached a hand up to the injury that basically made me lose my forehead. It'd been a year since the... "incident", as people in the hotel called it, and yet there was nothing they were capable of doing about my lack of a forehead. Sucky, I know, but oh well. At least I'd gotten my arms back, they had to be amputated because they were too far gone or something, but Test Tube happily made me some prosthetics since OJ said they were too expensive to buy.
I squeaked as I ran my hand along the edge of the glass. If my arms weren't prosthetics, they would have been cut by the sharp edges. Suddenly, I heard some clacking of crab claws, which caused me to pause and look over at the place I'd designated as Baxter's living space. He stared at me, annoyed and probably wanting food.
Quietly sighing, I stopped kicking my legs in the air and slid off my bed, making my way over to Baxter's makeshift bed I had created. Baxter appeared to be laying in it, but his funky little eyes were were still staring at me as I approached.
Taking the package of fish food that I'd placed on a shelf above his bed so it was easy access for me but he couldn't reach it, I poured some of Baxter's food into his little food bowl. He seemed happy enough with me so I put the fish food back and looked at the clock on the wall.
Oh! It's lunchtime, I'd better get going.
I hummed, pushing the door to my room open and happily skipped through the hallway, speedily making my way down a few flights of stairs. Don't worry, I kept my hand on the railing though. I could hear OJ calling out "LUNCHTIME, PEOPLE!" from the hotel lobby, which meant that I was both close, and that OJ was giving the last call for lunch. So I went down one more flight of stairs and and found I was at the lobby.
We were having macaroni and cheese, I think, but that was just a guess from how when I looked around the lobby, a lot of people were eating macaroni and cheese.
Then I spotted OJ in the crowd, and walked over. "Hey, OJ!" OJ turned to look at me. "Hm?" "Sorry, I was a bit late to lunch, but where can I get some macaroni and cheese like the rest of the hotel-ers?" Yes, I made the word "hotel-ers" up.
"Oh, you can just go to the kitchen counter and get some yourself, there's plenty left since Soap expected people to want seconds." OJ motioned to the kitchen from where he was standing.
"Okay!" I joyfully chirped, and hopped over to the kitchen, slipping inside to grab myself a bowl and scoop some macaroni and cheese into it, before going over to one of the tables people were sitting at. Coincidentally, I was sat with Fan.
"Oh, hey Fan!" Fan looked up at me, having not noticed me before. Probably because he was too focused on eating his macaroni and cheese. Swallowing the food he was chewing, Fan responded. "Oh, hi Lightbulb."
Fan's large tear had been covered up with a patch of yellow and red fabric that Test Tube sewed on for him. She'd said he was lucky the tear hadn't been infected and that the group had acquired bandages at all, but I think the crab gods just wanted us to live, because who wouldn't?
He still lacked an eye though, and was pretty disappointed about that. So, I'd drawn a fake eye onto his yellow patch with a sharpie for him. Which he appreciated, of course.
"How's Baxter doing?" Fan asked simply, passing the duties of this conversation over to me for now. But I sure don't mind, because talking about Baxter is my specialty. "Oh, Baxter's doing great! Earlier today, I was sitting on my bed and Baxter made little clacking noises with his claws to get my attention! He's so smart!" I chattered gleefully.
