Fan's POV

Breathing heavily, I leaned against a nearby tree to catch my breath. I couldn't run anymore, I'd completely sapped myself of my strength. We'd probably gotten far enough away from the wolf, though...

I looked around the area we'd stopped in to make sure the other two were here. I saw Lightbulb sitting by a different tree, her arms were still bleeding, but only a bit. Balloon was kneeling down next to Lightbulb and wrapping one of them in the snow white bandages we'd acquired from my car.

The tear in my head began to throb with a newfound amount of pain, snapping me out of my thoughts. I winced and moved one of my hands to the tear, trying to hold it with my hand as if that would help. Of course, it didn't, but I knew that. Probably.

I racked my brain for something to do to distract myself from the pain for now, my gaze locking onto Lightbulb as an idea lit up in my head like, well, a light bulb.

So, I pushed myself fully onto my feet, no longer leaning on the rough bark of the tree beside me, and plodded over to the semi-shattered bulb

Lightbulb weakly looked up at me as I approached, Balloon had just finished bandaging up both of her arms, which were both now laying limply on her lap.

"Hey." I greeted her, waving a bit just so she knew the "hey" was a greeting and not solely a way to get her attention. She seemed to realize she forgot to smile and quickly did so before looking back up at me. "...Hi!" She responded with an overly cheerful voice, but even I could hear how it wavered. It made sense though, she was probably in a lot of pain...

I looked over at her bandaged arms. "Are you okay?" I ask slowly. It takes a bit of time for Lightbulb to respond, as if she's pondering what to say in return to properly reassure me. "Yeah, I-I'm okay." She twisted her face into a smile, though it didn't feel very genuine. "I just want to be alone right now."

I decide to listen to her word since the least I can do to help Lightbulb out is respect her wishes. "Well, I'll be off then. Think I'll go scout the area or something." I smiled at Lightbulb, and she gave me a weak grin in return as I trudged off.

I plucked a stick off the ground as I rambled away from the camp, dragging said stick in the dirt so I could follow the line it created when i wanted to go back. It was a bit of an overused tactic, but it worked, and stopped me from getting lost half of the time, so I didn't care to change it.

I placed all my attention on my legs, forcing myself to keeping placing one in front of the other, which in turn kept me walking forwards. I lost track of time, and snapped back into action once I felt my feet fall upon a material that wasn't dirt or grass, but concrete.

Looking up, I saw a road. When I looked to my left, I could see how the road went on as a normal straight line for a bit. I couldn't see much past the turn in the road a little ways back, though.

As for the right side of the road, it was pretty straight too, and if I squinted I could see the point where the road made a sharp turn. An oddly familiar seeming sharp turn. So, I went closer, staying to the side of the road so I could still drag the stick through the dirt beside said road.

Just past the sharp turn were some tire marks in the dirt. I decided I didn't have to follow those marks, as I knew exactly where they led...

The car.

It had to be the car, no, MY car. This was great, I had to get Balloon and Lightbulb, asap.

And so, I turned my eyes to look at the path I'd created with the stick and followed it back to camp as fast as my legs could carry me.
