I never thought this would happen.

Keith's POV:

"Keith, you coming?" Shiro called, a bit too bubbly.

Keith stuck his head out from behind the car, where the shadows were keeping him free from the sun's rays. With a hand sticky with sunscreen, he dipped his fingers into the cheese-powder remains of the doritos, not caring one bit that his hand will be stained orange later.

"Coming, I guess," Keith shouted back, trudging along with his bag.

His sneakers scraped against the concrete road, kicking a few pebbles mercilessly as the strong scent of salt stung his nostrils, the sea coming closer and closer. The faint noise of seagulls circling in the sky above echoed, searching for another bag of french fries to steal from a poor tourist. The sun beat down on his messy bangs, beads of sweat already starting to form on his forehead.

The sky was painted a beautiful blue, so clear and bright, complimenting the puffy clouds that looked like cotton candy. Every now and then, the clouds would cover the sun, leaving the world in its shadow, a soft, sweet breeze flying by as if to make up for how hot the sun is.

"Don't look so down, Keith," Pidge suddenly spoke, spawning by Keith's side making him jump. "You might actually have fun."

"Look, the more you people say it, the more mad I'll get," Keith glowered, as they made it closer to the dock. "At least you actually knew this party was on a cruise."

"Eh, all I knew was there was free food," Pidge shrugged. "I could eat something that isn't instant noodles or cans of coke."

"How are you so skinny if that's your daily diet?" Keith smirked a little. "I've never seen you eat anything other than that."

"A tech-genius never reveals her secrets." Pidge elbowed Keith's side, before running off in a giggling frenzy.

The dock was made out of wood that looks like it was shoved in one place and nailed together. It creaked horribly, and was very slippery, being glossed in sprays of sea water for years, it leaving this icky thin layer of slime behind. A few strands of seaweed curled in between the pieces of wood, as if saying that this was the waters territory. Keith shivered at the thought.

Keith stared up at the boats lined up side by side, watching them pass by. In the corner of Keith's eye, he spotted a wooden rowboat, flipped over and floating on top of the water. It clearly was abandoned, it was beaten-up, covered in scratches, the only reason why it hadn't flown away yet was because it was tied back with a rope, strengthened by seaweed and plastic bags intertwined together. A trashy rope holding a trashy boat.

Keith didn't know why that boat seemed so fascinating to him.

Then it happened.

A flash of blue flickered underneath the rowboat, causing Keith's eyes to widen, taking a double take but the blue just... disappeared. Keith rubbed his eyes, flinching as sunscreen mixed with cheese powder stung horribly. Making him double over slightly, in a flurry of swears. With watery eyes, Keith looked up again. But it was gone. Whatever it was.

"Keith?" Shiro yelled, snapping Keith's attention away from the rowboat.

"I said I'm coming!" Keith shouted back, the sudden flush of annoyance returning once more.

Shiro was pulling off his dress shirt and pants, revealing dark purple swim trunks underneath. He was wearing that this whole time? Keith thought bitterly, looking down to see a pair of black sandals Shiro slipped into.

Pidge appeared in a green bathing suit, Matt still wearing his outfit, the only difference was now when Keith squinted, he noticed that Matt actually wasn't wearing shorts like he thought he was before- they were actually white swim trunks bedazzled in orange polka dots.
