Just as the sibling duo is about to round the corner and enter the Li Mansion a hand grabs LiYing, stopping their escapade.

Now:

LiYing's knee-jerk reaction to being grabbed was to throw a blind arm out, her brother would definetly disapprove( she knows its a fatal mistake but only after swinging her arm) though fortunately for her, whoever grabbed her was not carrying any weapon. But the attacker sure was fast. The person ducked before clamping her in a tight hold. It was Xie Yun who noticed the person.

"Li Sheng?" The surprise was evident in Xie Yun's voice, the sibling duo hadn't counted on the Li heir to catch them before they could catch him.

Both of them stopped struggling on hearing Xie Yun's call but LiYing gave Li Sheng an extra kick for the headlock before dusting herself off.

"What are you doing here?" She asked while her arm. Damn, either Li Sheng's strength has increased or he was training more, her arm was bruised! Li Sheng had the decency to look sheepish before his expression turned incredulous.

"What am I doing here? I should be the one asking you that! This is my home, what do you think I am doing here?"

LiYing looked where Li Sheng was pointing and sure enough, the manor was just a few feet away. Embarrased and annoyed, she huffed. Xie Yun simply shook his head at them.

"Now is not the time to fight you two. Come now!"

LiYing nodded, turning to move but Li Sheng stopped them once more.

"Wait! Where are you going?"

Footsteps, urgent in their gait, sounded in their direction and Xie Yun grabbed both of them before breaking into a silent run inside the manor. The questions could wait.

Once inside the manor, Xie Yun hid them in a corner before turning to the Li heir.

"Li Sheng, Where is Madam Li?"

"Ah? Oh, A-Niang must be in her study reviewing tax records—ah Xie Yun? Wait!"

In another part of the village:

"Wangzi, we....we couldn't get them."

A slow curve of smile. "Oh?"

The men kept their head bowed, a single word response from the prince never meant anything good.

"And how did my extremely skilled men, whom I have trained myself, failed to get hold of one man?" Ji Chong asked, his calm voice cracking like thunder on the assembled army.

No one answered.

A raised eyebrow and the prince chuckled slowly.

One of the assembled men stumbled forward, dropping into a kneeling position with his head bowed. The general. Ji Chong admired his ability to stand with his head high in any situation and his leadership but sometimes he pitied the man. His leadership qualities might get him killed one day because Ji Chong, for all his titles and talents wasn't a merciful man.
