Arriving at the butterfly mansion Shinobu was greeted by a young looking girl who she didn't recognise.
"Hello there, can I help you?" She asked noticing her staring.
"..."
"She's carrying a nichirin blade, so she must be a slayer. Maybe she hit her head?" Shinobu thought, moving closer to the unresponsive girl to observe her. Placing her hand on her chin to tilt her head down she carefully observed the girls head looking for any signs of injury.
"What are you doing? Who are you?" They spoke
"I'm just checking to see if your hurt, can you tell me your name?" Shinobu asked hoping they'd finally snapped out of their daze.
"Tokito Muichiro"
"Tokito I told you not to wander to far." A booming voice said, startling Shinobu.
"Oh Himejima-san do you know this girl?" She asked hoping to finally get some information about this seemingly lost child.
"I do, and he is not a girl." The stone hashira answered matter of factly.
"Really? No way, he's a boy" she thought whilst looking closer at his face.
"Oh... my apologies Tokito-kun"
"I believe the master has already informed you his condition."
"So he's the boy with no memory, I see" The butterfly women thought, the situation finally clicking for her.
"Yes I've heard about this troubles, if it's ok with you Himejima-san, I'd like to keep him here for a few days to observe him." She spoke trying to sound as professional as possible.
"Of course, I only ask to speak to him before I leave." Himejima responded.
"Of course"
As the stone hashira moved to speak to the forgetful boy Shinobu's mind drifted towards possible causes to why he'd lost his memory in the first place. She had little to no information on the boy so trying to diagnose him now wouldn't be possible, but she had to admit she was quite curious.
"It's not uncommon for people to lose their memory, but it tends to happen with old age." She thought thinking back to her grandfather. She didn't have many memory's of him since he died when she was young, but she did remember visiting him with her mother.
"You have my thanks for taking care of him Kocho" the stone hashira spoke, pulling Shinobu from her thoughts.
"Of course Himejima-san, would you please follow me Tokito-kun?" The boy didn't acknowledge her at all, simply staring up at the clouds. Shinobu took his hand in hers causing him to look at her, as she showed him as kind a smile as she could manage. It seemed to be enough she proceeded to walk with her inside the butterfly mansion towards one of the available rooms, that were normally reserved for hashira.
"I don't have much time tonight, the sun will set soon, but I'd like to make a start with him at least," She thought as she gestured to him to take a seat on the bed.
She pulled a chair up and sat opposite him pulling out a notebook.
"I'm going to ask you some questions Tokito-kun, is that okay?"
The boy nodded.
"When did you lose your memory?"
"I don't know"
"Do you remember anything?"
"My name and age"
"And how old are you Tokito-kun"
