Upper moon 4...Kanae

Those words kept replaying over and over in her mind. The more she thought about it the more it made sense, she never did find her sister's body.

"Upper moon 4, you've been busy Kanae." She said out loud to no in particular, hoping to convince herself it wasn't true. She wasn't sure how to feel about the news, Kanao and Muichiro were missing, But her sister was alive.

"Aoi will be devastated, and Muichiro was so young"she thought.
"But Kanae is alive" as if that simple fact made it worth it. She hated that she didn't feel even the slightest bit upset about her younger sister and friend being missing. She hadn't dreamt their death, so they must be alive.

"If I find them, I can find Kanae" her resolve strengthened even more at the thought of seeing her older sister again. Her thoughts had lead her home, pushing open the large doors to the inner courtyard where she found Aoi sitting exactly where she left her.

"Shinobu-sama! What did he say!" She said, worried about her friend.

Shinobu took a seat next to the younger girl, unsure of where to start. She couldn't exactly tell her about her dreams, after all Shinobu didn't understand them herself.

"It would be cruel to get her hopes up" she thought, deciding to just say that they were missing. The pair sat together as Aoi's eyes began to water at the loss of Kanao as Shinobu held her in her arms. The sun eventually interrupting them, forcing them to move. Despite what they may be feeling, they both had responsibilities. Aoi had to take care of the butterfly estate, and Shinobu had to find her sister.

3 hours later

Shinobu sat staring at her desk, hoping an answer would just appear. She had to find her sisters, a matter easier said than done. Shinobu knew that she had no way of tracking them, the master had told her where Kanao and Muichiro were last seen and unsurprisingly she found nothing.

"An upper moon wouldn't leave a trail behind, even if she did I'm no tracker." The question of what to do next sat in her mind, unfortunately no answer accompanying it. Despite the happenings of the previous night she still had mission to undertake, her crow rudely interrupting her train of thought as it delivered its message.

"A joint mission with Tomioka, assisting with a lower moon" it all sounded when trivial when she thought about it that way, but she had responsibilities nonetheless. Grabbing her sword she said goodbye to Aoi and started heading west to some mountain she had already forgotten the name off.

"A little distraction may prove useful"
"Besides, a lower moon may be able to put me on the right track at least" she thought, as she made her way to meet the ever elusive water hashira she had grown quite fond of.
