THIRD PERSON POV: Veronica and Katherine were walking with Darcy when they got stopped by Romeo "Well, hello hello hello, beautiful girls"
Jack came by "Woah, step aside Romeo. Nothin' more concerns you here. Mornin' miss and lady. May I interest you in the latest news?"
"The paper isn't out yet" Veronica said, rolling her eyes, little did she know she had a second newsie staring at her, smoking a cigar
"Oh I would be delighted to deliver it to you personally" Jack said
"I've got a headline for you" Katherine said, interrupting Jack "cheeky boy gets nothing for his troubles"
The boys laugh and Darcy grabs Kathrine's arm again with his free one and the three walk off to whatever they were doing
RACE POV: whoever that girl in the green dress was, I wanna marry her...
I was staring at where the three people walked away and Albert walked up behind me "You're swoonin'"
"Ah, shut up ya bum" I said and walked over to Crutchie and Finch
"Oh no rain. Oh- partly cloudy clear by evenin'" Crutchie said
"Yeah and the limo sells fifty papes a week all by itself" I put a hand on Crutchie's shoulder for a second
"I don't need the limp to sell papes. I got personally" Crutchie smiled

Carrying the banner through the-VERONICA POV: I was walking with Katherine and Darcy after the newsie insistent and I started a conversation "Katherine, that one newsie seemed really into you"
Katherine just laughed "Yeah well, I don't even know the man's name. I won't just fall to his feet because he flirted with me"
I shrugged "You got a good point there"
Katherine just nodded and we continued walking in silence until Darcy started talking "Newsies seem nice"
And that's all he said then we arrived at home and we're greeted by our father, Joseph Pulitzer. "Hey girls. Darcy. Welcome home. Now go somewhere else. I have to do work"
I rolled my eyes and me and Katherine went different places to get stuff to report on. Katherine went to Medda Larkins show and I went to the horse races
I sat down and got my notebook out. I started watching and writing stuff down. It was actually quite a fun race.. until it got interrupted
"Hiya beautiful" I heard a voice from next to me say. I look to my right and saw a newsie smoking a cigar sitting next to me.. well the cigar wasn't lit
I rolled my eyes and looked back at the race. I heard him talk from beside me "Racetrack Higgins" He held out his hand to me
I reluctantly shook it "Veronica.. Plumber" I hesitantly said, not wanting him to know who my father was
"Well, I hope to see you again soon but I gotta get back to the boys" He said and kissed my cheek before running off
I quickly brought my hand up to my cheek and rubbed the kiss off my cheek. I don't even know anything about him but his name
He must be used to girls always falling for him. I could never. But the way his hair bounced when he ran away, those curls. His eyes were just magnificent and anyone could get lost in them and that god damn cigar... stop it Veronica! You can't do this! He's a newsie and you're Joseph Pulitzer's daughter.... something bad was going to happen in the future. I could feel it but this one boy
I made my way back to my house and went straight to bed
