Can I lay in your arms
Keep me from all harm
Breathe on me, breathe on me
I find safety in your arms

It was deep night fall and Inej, Kaz, and I were walking to the building. Once we had finally reached it, Inej only took a moment to scout a path to the top.
"Follow and step exactly where I step or you'll fall." She warned both of us, climbing on to the first ledge.
"You don't have to tell me twice." I said, following behind her.
"I chose the path that would be most comfortable for all..." Inej glanced at Kaz and his cane. "Of you." She finished her sentence.
"Do you want me to hold the cane?" I asked Kaz.
"We're losing moonlight." He shook his head.
We started our ascent to the top. The ledges were small but if I was careful, I could use them. It was hard to see in the dark, but because Inej was guiding us, I knew where to place my hands and feet.
How she did it, I had no idea.
After it felt like the climb would never end, I saw Inej grab the top and hoist herself to the roof. After she was up there she leaned over and extended her hand. I grabbed it and she helped me up too.
I sighed a breath of relief.
After I was safely on horizontal ground, I leaned down over the edge to see Kaz gripping on to the ledge. His cane was tucked in his arm uncomfortably. Sweat beaded on his forehead and his eyes were furrowed with focus.
"Do you need help?" I extended my hand.
"No." He gritted.
He held onto the ledge with one hand, trying to transfer the cane from one arm to another. With his left hand he was holding the ledge, with his right he was holding the cane. But in the middle of it all, his grip on the ledge loosened.
I gasped and quickly grabbed the top of the cane while Kaz was holding the end of it. His other hand had slipped from the ledge and was also gripping the cane.
"Inej." I managed to shout. Instantly she was behind me, holding me so I myself wouldn't tumble off the rooftop.
The crow silhouette that was at the top of Kaz's cane gave me a good hook to hold. If it wasn't there, I wouldn't have been able to grab it, and Kaz would've fallen.
"Saints." I grunted as I supported a dangling Kaz using a stick. "Grab that ledge there to your right." I instructed.
Kaz did as I said and grabbed it with his left hand, still holding onto the cane.
"Let go of the cane." I told him.
He was hesitant and he looked up at me.
"Trust me." I whispered.
Though he didn't say anything, he slowly let go of the cane and instead grabbed the ledge. Inej let go of me and I took the cane and placed it on the roof's ground. I then went and leaned forward, extending my hand.
He looked at the hand.
"Don't refuse now." I warned him. Thankfully he grabbed it and I pulled, slowly pulling him up. He came to the edge of the rooftop as I was pulling.
"Y/N wait-" He started but I kept tugging and didn't realize that Kaz was already up.
With all the momentum, I pulled too hard, making me fall back with all the force, and taking Kaz with me.
