Ch. 7 ~ Comfort Zone

BigBoss's Office

With everyone gathered in the room, BigBoss stood at the front, smiling proudly.

"Since we're all here, I’m excited to announce that the cast for My Boyfriend is a Superstar is officially complete! Let’s take a moment to congratulate everyone!"

Applause and cheers filled the room, but among them, Doby remained confused. He wasn’t sure why he was part of this meeting or why he was hearing such good news. Looking around, he hesitated before speaking up.

"Excuse me, BigBoss, but... I’m a little confused. Why am I here?"

he asked hesitantly.

BigBoss raised an eyebrow before turning toward Jace.

"Oh? Jace hasn’t told you yet?"

Jace, who had been standing beside Doby, grinned as BigBoss looked back and forth between them. Finally, BigBoss fixed his gaze on Jace, waiting for an explanation. Jace chuckled softly.

"Not yet,"

he admitted.

"I wanted him to hear the good news directly from you and from everyone here. I thought it would be more special that way."

BigBoss nodded, then turned his attention back to Doby.

"Alright then, Dobyson. Son, I’m happy to tell you that you have been chosen as the main lead for the series, alongside Jace!"

For a moment, Doby just stood there, frozen in shock. His mind raced to process what he had just heard.

"Wait… Me?"

He asked, pointing at himself in disbelief.

"As in… me?"

BigBoss smiled warmly.

"Yes, you, son."

Doby’s eyes widened, his emotions overwhelming him. He turned to Jace, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Jace…"

Tears welled up in his eyes as he threw his arms around Jace, hugging him tightly. The entire room watched, moved by the moment. Everyone knew how much Doby deserved this opportunity. He had worked incredibly hard, always staying humble and dedicated.

The producers had chosen him for more than just his talent, his on-screen chemistry with Jace was simply magical, something no one else in the company could replicate. What Doby didn’t know was that Jace himself had personally recommended him for the role. Jace had seen the potential in him and believed that no one else could play the part as perfectly.

Jace had even gone as far as asking the producers to keep it a secret until today, just so he could see the raw, genuine joy on Doby’s face when he finally heard the news. And now, as Doby held onto him, overwhelmed with emotion, Jace knew he had made the right choice.

Jace’s Car.

"Dob, where do you want to go? Do you want to go home now?"

Dob’s phone started ringing, it was his best friend, Pierre. He looked at the screen but didn’t pick up, letting the call ring until it stopped.

Jace noticed and asked,

"Why didn’t you answer?"

Dob sighed.

"I don’t want to go home, but I also don’t want to go anywhere in public where people can see me."

Ever since JNN announced their presence together on social media, fans had been going crazy. The sudden attention was overwhelming, and he wasn’t ready to deal with it.
