Songkran date ~ Special Chapter

In Jace and Doby's relationship, even the heavens might cry if they don't sulk each other for a whole month. Most of the time, it's either Jace who causes a stir by posting emotional or dramatic quotes on social media or Dobyson who chooses to go quiet and give Jace the silent treatment. Whenever something like this happens, it's usually the fans who end up feeling the most stressed and worried. They always find themselves caught in the middle, not knowing if the two are okay or if their favorite couple is falling apart again.

On Jace's birthday, he had to ask Doby if he would like to join him for the upcoming "Songkran Festival", which is Thailand's traditional New Year celebration held every year from April 13 to 15. The festival is famous for its joyful atmosphere, especially the fun water fights that take place in the streets.

Doby usually avoids giving his indirect answers to invitations made by Jace just like this. Instead of saying YES or NO, he will just reply with I LOVE YOU which Jace has learned the meaning is NO in situations like this. But this time, Doby made a surprised answer. He is not dodging the question but he gave a clear YES even Dobyson asked Jace if he could go with him for the full three days of the festival.

Jace who knows Doby very well was touched by his willingness but also he wanted to be realistic. Realistic because he knew that Dobyson doesn't enjoy big crowds, long traffic, or playing in the water outside. So instead of pushing for the full three days, Jace only suggested that they could go for just one day. For Jace, that one day being together during Songkran was more than enough. What mattered for him most was spending time with Doby, even if it was just for a short while.

Before Songkran events.....

"Good morning love, let's meet later and have dinner tonight?"

Doby sent that message early in the day. He was feeling a bit down, like something was missing. Their fan meeting in Vietnam had been cancelled because of some unexpected situation, so both him and Jace had the day off. Doby thought it was the perfect chance for them to hang out and spend time together. Since he had no other plans, Doby spent the first half of his day at home. He played with his dogs, while playing online games and even teased his sister Debbie, who was just relaxing and scrolling on her phone. It was a cozy day with his family but something still felt off.

Later in the afternoon, Doby remembered his message to Jace and he took his phone from his room. He checked if Jace messaged him back but there was still no reply. Jace hadn't even seen the message yet. That made Doby feel curious why Jace didn't even say good morning to him. And he hadn't been online or responded to his chat.

He opened X and then his Instagram, hoping to see what Jace was up to. That's when he saw a post from Jace's sister, Lema. They were at the beach, spending the day with their family.

Doby knew how important a family time was for Jace. He really did understand. But at the same time, he couldn't help feeling upset. Jace didn't tell him anything about going to the beach or spending the day with his family in advance. Doby had thought they could use the free time to be together, even if just for dinner. Now he was left feeling disappointed and a little hurt.

Instead of feeling sorry for himself, Doby decided to make the most of the day. He chose not to sit around thinking too much or let his feelings take over. So, he went to visit his new house, which was still under renovation. It was something he had been excited about for a while, and he figured it would be a good way to take his mind off things.

His mom came with him and they spent the rest of the day checking on the progress of the house. They walked through each room, talked about how things should be set up and imagined how it would all look once it was done. It was his scapegoat to pass the time and it helped him focus on more something positive. He didn't even open Jace's post again nor did he like or react to it. He just stayed quiet, keeping his thoughts to himself.
