Joong's Birthday ~ Special Chapter

"Jace, I have something to tell you."

"Hmm?"

Dobyson looked worried, unsure of how to break the news to Jace. His family had planned another trip to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and he was expected to join them. The problem was, Jace had already made plans for the two of them to travel abroad. Since they both had free time before Jace’s birthday on March 10, it was supposed to be a special trip. 

But now, those plans seemed impossible. His family had to come first. The real issue, however, was what excuse he could give to go with Jace instead. They had been dating for almost two years, plus the years they were together before their breakup and eventual reconciliation, but their families still had no idea about their relationship. Despite their obvious closeness, their families assumed it was just because of work.

"Mom and Dad want to celebrate their anniversary in Japan again."

"So what's wrong with that? We can meet there after my fan meeting in China. We'll still have time after that."

"There's another problem..."

Jace frowned, noticing the hesitation in Dobyson’s voice. He could tell something was bothering him, but he didn’t understand what it was yet.

"What is it? Are you worried that fans might think...."

"That’s not what I mean,"

Dobyson interrupted.

"I’ve been invited to my high school friend’s wedding, and it’s on March 9. That means I’ll have to leave early and won’t be able to meet you in Japan. I need to travel back before that."

Jace’s face shifted as he processed what Dobyson had just said. The trip they had been looking forward to was slipping away, and now there was even less time for them to be together.

"So that means we won’t have much time with each other then?"

"Jace, please"

Dobyson sighed, feeling guilty. 

"Oh, don’t worry, I understand,"

Jace replied, forcing himself with a smile. After a brief pause, Dobyson spoke again.

"But before that, can you stop mentioning me and my trip to Japan? I want to keep it private. Fans are already making up stories about my trip recently, and I don’t want to add to the rumors."

Jace nodded.

"Hmm, don’t worry. Just update me once you’re there."

"Okay,"

Dobyson agreed before hesitating for a moment.

"By the way, can I have a copy of your itinerary while you're traveling alone in Japan?" 

Jace raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"Just share it with me nah?"

Dobyson insisted, avoiding the question. Doby reached for Jace’s hands, gently holding them as he pouted in an adorable way, hoping to convince him. His eyes pleaded silently, adding to his charm, making it even harder for Jace to resist.

"Okay, I'll send it after you get inside your house,"

"Thanks. I love you, Jace"

He gently cupped Jace’s face, pulling him closer before pressing a soft yet deep kiss on his lips. Jace responded eagerly, as if their kiss wasn’t enough and he wanted more. But before things could go any further, Dobyson slowly pulled away, letting the moment linger before finally deciding it was time to say goodbye.
