*BACK TO DANIELLE'S POINT OF VIEW*
I stared out the window, looking down at the strongest boys of my group. They all looked like ants across the land down by the fences, W
while the bright autumn sun shown down on where they crawl."They're going to be okay." Louis tells me from the other side of the living room we were now sitting in. Fizzy, his little sister was staring out into space and leaning into his side.
"I know it's just- I thought this place was safe." I tell him, knowing that I could have helped just drag every last person I love into another death trap.
"This place IS safe, Danielle. YOU are safe. Your FRIENDS are safe. What's not safe is outside these walls; and you know that, love." Louis rants on as Fizzy's eyes search mine innocently.
"It just doesn't make sense."
"When does anything ever." He replies, rubbing Félicité's shoulder lovingly.
Silence falls upon the room and I lift back up the blinds to see if the boys have any emotion of fright or worry down by the fence.
"You got your eye on anyone?" Louis breaks the silence of the room, obviously thinking about the question.
"I don't think I need my eye on anyone." I reply back, knowing that in this world I really don't need to be obsessing over someone; caring too much and knowing that they're going to be gone like everyone else one day.
"That wasn't the question, love. Do you have your eye on someone either way?" He pushes and I can pretty much hear the smirk on his face as he sasses me.
"Not sure that I do."
"I'm thinking you got your eye on Niall." He says nonchalantly.
My face reddens quickly and he knows he just caught me red handed.
"You a psychic or something hot stuff?" I throw a rag at him that had been sitting on the table next to the window.
"Nah, you're just kind of desperate is what it seems like." Louis throws the rag back at me, straight in the back before soundly exiting the room with Felicite's scurrying feet behind him.
"Fuckin' idiot." I murmur under my breath.
"Heard that!"
*NIALLS POINT OF VIEW*
"SHIT MAN!" I scream at Jackson, putting a hand on his chest and cocking my gun back and shooting the dead man in the face, before another lazy walker crawls through the hole straight after.
"This where they're coming through?" Steven yells as he throws a shovel towards Harry and narrows his square jaw and eyes at me.
Harry takes the shovel that was just thrown into his arms and gives the newcoming walker a whack to the face.
"HOW DO WE BLOCK IT UP?" I scream over the growling noise towards the other boys, ready to bash in the head of whatever zombie decides to join us next.
My mind and heart are racing at miles per hour. If we don't patch this up we'll have to keep constant watch of this spot at all times.
The sound of an engine strikes through to my mind and screeching of tires fill the air. I revert my attention to see a giant van zooming down the left side of the hill towards our spot.
Driving fast like a maniac, is that boy Alex in the drivers seat, Lottie sitting next to him.
"What the hell?" Harry screams over the noise. I back out of the way to allow Alex to park the truck near the hole under the fence. The back shutter opens up and my one and only brother stands there smiling.
"A LITTLE HELP WITH THIS?" He asks, standing behind a huge box filled with something.
The box being heavy as an elephant, it takes all of us men to push it down the ramp and in front of the hole.
Alex laughs as the engine of the truck is turned off and he hops out of the driver's seat.
"You think that's going to hold?" Greg asks, putting his hands on his hips.
"Greg- What the fuck is this?" I ask him, gesturing to the truck as the other boys check out the giant box and how it's holding.
"Niall we raided the armory. This truck is filled with medical supplies and an endless amount of weapons. That box is filled with fucking cannon balls." He replies, motioning to the box that blocks the walker entrance, his hands still on his hips and clear cockiness in his voice. My mind is instantly blown away, no pun intended.
"Anyway, I need to talk to everyone. Alex, go park the truck by the door." Greg waves a hand for everyone to follow and Alex does as he's told.
The sun sits far away, not near the horizon just yet, but still aluminizing the sky with neon orange and yellow colors.
All of the men, plus Lottie, start to walk up the hill before Josh speaks up from behind me. "So, where's Jesy, I thought she went with you guys."
My calves and thighs begin to burn as we tread up the hill back toward the mansion and I swipe my blondish hair to the side, it easily gliding across my face as it's drenched in sweat.
My mind goes to think about the girl who was just mentioned, and I can't help but wonder the same thing. Where is she and why is she not back here with Greg now?
"She did leave you, right?" I question my brother just as Josh did, looking to my right where he pragmatically crawls up the grassy hill.
"Yes, she did." He replies, his blue eyes looking into mine as beads of sweat drip down his forehead.
"Then where the hell is she now?"
"That's what we need to talk about..." Greg trails off.
