DANIELLE'S POINT OF VIEW:

The day is bright as some sun shines through, illuminating the clouds above our heads in a white haze.

Niall clutches his shoulder and stares out of the passenger seat window, hissing every time the Jeep goes over a bump or takes a sharp turn.

I tap my fingers over the steering wheel and search the area with my eyes, we haven't made it out of London yet, and out of my peripheral vision; the orange gas light flicks on behind the steering wheel.

"Fuck– are you kidding?" I slam my hands on the steering wheel angrily.

Niall furrows his eyebrows and looks in my direction like a confused puppy, "She didn't even think to put any gas in?" He asks, looking over my arms at the glowing orange color.

"Apparently not, before we get anywhere, let's go ahead and stop." I tell him, pulling over to a gas station just across a park in the middle of the city, frozen green trees and bushes lining the open area; still lush through the harsh winter.

Pulling the keys out of the ignition, I hop out as usual, my back aching while I walk over to the station, Niall following close behind.

I open the door incautiously, my sword out and ready, two walkers from down the isle in the front coming our way.

I walk up to the first guy, stabbing him in the face, along with his friend who wasn't far behind.

Sighing loudly, I make my way to the back of the gas station where red petrol cans line the wall like they're waiting for us.

"Can you grab one Ni?" I ask, shaking my scraggly hair out of my face, my whole head of hair feeling like an untangled rope.

"Yes." He smiles at me, using his good arm to grab a can reluctantly, and three should make a nice load until we'll probably have to stop somewhere else.

We walk back to the jeep just as a freezing rain starts to drizzle over the city, making me pick up my speed to the trunk of the vehicle, my rope-like hair starting to dampen as the light rain falls.

I set both of my cans into the trunk and look back to grab Niall's, his goofy smile still on his face while he looks at me.

The rain drops covering his eyelashes, and his hair starting to wet and stick to his forehead. His brown roots becoming longer than roots should be, his hair dyed blonde, becoming an ombré soon.

I laugh silently, looking at the dumb look on his face before me. He leans down, handing me the can of gas, still watching me as I put it in the trunk.

When I turn to look back at him he's already inching closer, his lips pressing to mine softly, the rain between our lips making the kiss feel sloppier than it was supposed to be.

"I love you." He smiles that dorky smile again, and I push him on his chest and return to the driver's seat where our destination needs to be making way.

Niall refills the tank on the side while I start Perrie's jeep up again, the gas meter making its way back up to full, the orange glow slowly fading back to a grey.

Niall returns to his seat next to me, sighing as he gets comfortable again.

"Niall." I tone down the mood, staring at the steering wheel I set my hands on, the car not going anywhere yet.

"Hmm?" He hums at me, his lips pink from the rain, and his blue eyes glowing just as the gas light had.

"Do you think we'll find them?" I ask, looking at him now, the sight a much better one than the steering wheel.

"Of course. And if not; they'll find us. You know that." He tells me, pulling on my arm to come towards him again for another kiss. "Okay?" He asks, his face only centimeters from mine now.

I nod before leaning in for another kiss, my body on fire by his simple touch.

The moment ruined only just seconds later, the sound of a walker banging on Niall's window interrupts the kiss we have.

I laugh slowly, looking down at my hands over Niall, but when I look up to his face, his eyes don't look at me.

The baby blue crystals focus on the window, the scratchy sounds of a walker trying eagerly to get inside, desperately wanting.

He stares intently, his eyebrows slowly furrowing as the seconds go on.

I intensely turn my gaze to where his lie, the walker still growling hungrily behind the glass.

As soon as I lay my eyes on the dead, they go dry, and I feel as if I blinked than they wouldn't open again. My heart ached with oblivion and it felt as if a weight crushed me between my lungs.

Jade, bangs on the window for us. Her blue hair even worse than mine, a rope not even close to describe the nest of her hair that shapes her face.

Her brown eyes foggy and white, emotionless and lifeless, her teeth grinding and biting the air for us, the rain covering her corpse, the odor being terrible, lucky for us we didn't have to smell it.

"No..." I say the only thing on my mind, my heart only wanting to scream out for help, seeing her there, but not anymore.

That wasn't her anymore, behind her eyes, Jade wasn't in there.

I turn off the car, and hop out of my doorway, my machete in hand as I make my way around, Niall watching me the whole way.

Jade's lifeless eyes catch me as I make my way to her, and the rain soaks my head, coming down harder now. She reaches her skinny arms out at me, growling menacingly, and I stab her right through the mouth, my lip quivering with the hurt laced between my veins.

Staring at her motionless body on the ground, I motion for Niall to come out of the car also, and I throw Jade's tiny body over my shoulder and in my arms, walking to the glades of the city I'd seen earlier.

It's a light rain, not the kind that stings your face or is warm and Spring-like, it's cold and makes you shiver just thinking about it.

A light snow still covering the ground, Niall walks behind me cautiously, not saying a word, and as we step onto the overgrown grass, a pond coming into view, one that will be soon overflowing with rain.

A small dock goes out over the water, and I continue my walk across it, reaching the end and removing the small girl from my shoulder.

Niall kneels down beside me, my actions following his, as we lower Jade into the water, dropping her by her arms, her closed eyes and limp body drifting away, to the bottom of the pond.

And as I stand up I wonder what kind of sick oblivion lies at the bottom, and how many other people had to bury their friends under the water just as we had.

When I look over to Niall's face I break down, sobs escaping my mouth, standing on the edge of the dock, I'd wished to disappear before, Niall holding me in his arm, and comforting me as much as he can, kissing my head shortly and sniffling also.

"Come on–" He stutters out, his voice shaky and weak from trying not to cry, "we gotta go." He whispers to me, and I wipe the mix of rain and tears from below my eyes, away from the pond, and back to the car, where just minutes before I was smiling, far from that mindset now.

When the engine fires up and the seatbelt warning rings through my ears, Niall grabs my hand, and we drive as fast as we can out of London.
