*STEVEN'S POINT OF VIEW*
"HOP IN HOP IN!" I yell, jumping into the front seat of the ammunition truck, Allison and Lydia doing the same as me from the other side.
Perrie and Jackson write a note for Danielle just a few cars down, my mind starting to panic as Reed stands on top of a truck, letting walkers pile out and straight towards our getaway.
Jackson bangs on the window in order for us to let him in, and I reach over to the door handle in order to open it for him before Allison grabs my wrist tightly.
"They're not all fitting in here, it's too late!" She looks me right in the eyes, and I back to Jackson, his eyes filled with sorrow as he runs to a different vehicle, Carly and Kyle in tow behind him.
I start up the engine as Jackson gets up onto a vehicle, pulling up the other two people along with him, now just making it a waiting game for all of us.
Walkers surround the ammunition truck and I roll down my window harshly, shooting the walkers near me and aiming straight for Reed on top of his trap box. Making contact, the bullet hits Reed straight in the chest, and there's no way he's coming back after that hit.
More and more walkers surround our vehicle and the only option would be to plow through them. "No letting them in now." Allison stutters, looking out her window at all of the hungry people banging on it harshly.
"LOOK!" Lydia points over Allison and out her window vaguely, allowing all three of us to watch as Jackson, Carly, and Kyle try to jump over to the roof of the storage unit for safety.
"NO!" Allison screams in agony, my eyes growing wide as the ladder breaks and Kyle falls to the pit of walkers below him, Jackson trying his best to reach out and grab him, yet he fails.
"Shit shit shit we gotta go!" I yell, roaring the engine at whoever else may be out there.
"What about Perrie, Liam and Thomas?!" Lydia grabs on my arm, her eyebrows furrowed angrily, just as my foot is ready to plow through as many of the dead as it takes to get out of this shit city.
"There's no time." I reply, speeding through like there was an open road ahead of me, easily squishing and mowing over all of whatever was in my path, heading straight for the interstate.
Bumps and jumps over people and whatever was beneath the truck makes us hop out of our seats, leaving only the interstate road in front of us.
"I think we lost them." Allison looks out her rear view mirror, her light brown eyes pouring into the side of my head with a frown plastered on her face.
"How far we going?" Lydia asks, fumbling with her knife in her hands.
"Just down the interstate and at least two towns in, I don't wanna be followed." I tell them wisely, "We'll stop and get out to speak with the others about what to do."
The girls go quiet as I speed down the interstate, a bump over the top of the car loudly, gets my eye in the rear view mirror.
A body lay in the road now far back by the speed of the vehicle I drive, and a walker must've climbed up after us, because it wasn't moving now.
We keep at a constant speed on the interstate, going around 85 mph and soon approaching the first small town in view, deserted just as every other place on the planet now.
Lydia sits beside me, fumbling with the signal finder and buttons on the walkie-talkie, trying her best to reach anyone who could've also made it out, or even Danielle if she can hear us somehow.
I keep my eyes on the road as Allison keeps hers on the rear-view mirror, on the look out for anyone or anything following us; but nothing is.
Alone.
That's how you can explain it; Lydia and Allison making little noises and sighs as if they keep trying to find the right words to say; but they don't want to say anything at all.
Alone.
Feeling like everyone I know is dead. Everything I've ever known is dead, and we're just,
Alone.
95% of the world in oblivion and we're fucking alone.
I pull over after a few more thirty minutes, hopping out of my drivers seat and walking around to the back of the ammo truck to let the others out.
"Thank God." Harry stumbles out, Louis close behind him. Kaya walking out straight after, her hands covering her elbows, only her blue long sleeve button up polo to keep her warm.
"What's the plan." Allison looks at me, leaning against the back of the truck and looking around for any place to stay for the day.
All eyes focus on me and I search the Google of my mind for possibly anything to respond with.
"South. For the night; here." I turn around, looking for a safe looking cottage between all of the gas stations and houses.
"Lewes, England." Kaya speaks up, her eyes only on me, ignoring the glares and confusion around her from the others.
"Why there?" Lydia asks sassily, crossing her arms and setting her rifle against the truck also.
"I'd gotten contact from another doctor down there, she says they have a safe place– I know it sounds crazy and it's totally okay to not trust a stranger, but it's our best bet now." She tries to explain to us, and I have to admit that's the best god damn idea I've heard in a while.
"Then I think we have ourselves a plan, everyone hop back in and I'm gonna drive around in order to find a place to stick around for the rest of the day." I tell them, motioning to the back of the truck and get back into position as before.
"Nothing." Lydia sighs, staring out her window at all of the useless and unsafe buildings we drive past.
"Yeah." I trail off, trying to think of the next plan, "I think we need to look more in the suburbs." I turn left, my elbow holding Allison back a bit while we sharply cut the corner.
"There!" Allison points from around my arm, a brown log cabin, sturdy and surrounded my a hill of trees, hidden from anyone to see us from the street.
Pulling up outside, we do the same routine as usual, hopping out, opening the back, and directing our plan.
"Looks pretty safe." Harry admits, ruffling his hair a bit, now having a United States bandana keeping it off of his forehead.
"Gotta make sure it's clear, and if not we clear it out." Louis makes his remark, gaining a nod from me as we walk up to the front door of the cabin.
Making my way up the porch in the lead, the two small steps look creaky, making me try to step over them for the least noise possible, Allison obviously not having the same idea and the loose boards creak beneath her feet loudly and eerily.
I quietly load my pistol and raise it above my head, my knuckles reaching the wooden plank to knock, echoing in the space around us.
No sound inside indicates for us it's clear from anywhere in ear-length of the door.
Harry exchanges a look with me, his eyes narrow and waiting for a signal from mine.
I nod silently, Allison's breathing slow and paced in my ear from behind me. Harry opens the door and points his gun toward the inside, only to nothing there.
A cabin, looking to not be touched, even before the apocalypse had hit.
"I think it's clear." Harry says, still pointing his gun as he walks through the doorway cautiously.
The other five of us not far behind him, oblivion settles in again for all of those whom we'd lost today.
And it makes me want to rip someone's fucking head off.
