𝑜𝟣. ❝𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬❞

Mornings were not precisely Luna's dearest time of the day. She was the type of person who is cynical of people who smile before nine am. people would say she has "diurnal variation of mood" she would just call it "a waist of energy".

Why wake up early feeling tired, while you can wake up late feeling wide awake ready for another party. that was her cast off mind. the chirping  sounds of the birds decided the time Luna would wake up. she loved the warm rays of the sun on her face in the morning. and the chilly breeze that infiltrated her room through the window of her bedroom.

"Luna, honey wake up. It's moving day." Her mother sang while opening the girls bedroom door entering with a few unopened moving boxes set in her arms. Luna let out a big groan while hiding her face under her pillow. Amelia rolled her eyes at her daughters grumpy mood. she grabbed the end of her white satin blanket. And tore it from her body.

"MOM. Don't do that." Luna shrieked sitting up immediately. the chilly air was creating goose bumps on her arms and legs. she was rubbing her arms and caused enough friction to keep her warm for about a few seconds.

"Get up. Were leaving in a few hours and you didn't even bother to pack your stuff. i know your not a morning person but i hope outer banks will knock some sense into you." her mom spoke while walking over to her window and opening it even more. letting more cold but fresh air consuming Luna's room.

"It's not that i am not a morning person. as a matter a fact i love mornings. i'm just not a waking up person." Luna sassed as she got off her bed grabbing the nearest hoody that laid on her chair full of clothes.

in the meanwhile her mother saw a can of red bull filled with cigarettes next to her daughters window. she grabbed the can and paced over to her daughter.

"You don't even try to hide the evidence anymore." Amelia muttered throwing the can away while glaring at her daughter.

"Why would i. it's not like you're not aware of it." Luna rolled her eyes. her mother was well aware of the smoking sessions her daughter had on the roof of the house. she knew that if she was going to forbid things Luna was going to do it anyways. She doesn't have to do it in secret cause Luna always ended up telling her mother everything. that's the kind of relationship  they had.

"True. but it doesn't mean i'm ok with it." Amelia responded sternly.

"What's the problem. You smoke. Dad smoked. You know what they say. Like mother like daughter." Luna smirked. knowing her mother hated that saying cause she wanted luna to be better than her.

"I always hated that proverb." Amelia groaned. causing a satisfied reaction from her daughter who was putting her hair in a ponytail leaving a few strings of her hair out of the ponytail.

"Don't shoot the messenger." Luna raised her hands in surrender.

"Whatever in our new house you can't smoke in your room anymore. the smell stains." she pointed at her. Luna shrugged her shoulders knowing that she was gonna have to find another place to get her daily dose of nicotine.

"Sure." Luna said not really trying to sound convincing. she was the type of girl who wouldn't  really care about consequences. She would do anything that she wanted too. And her mother knew that cause Luna was exactly the same type of teen Amelia was at the age of seventeen.

"You've got four hours to pack your shit. after that Daven is sending someone to pick us up." Amelia announced putting the moving boxes on Luna's desk.

"Whatever." she said trying very hard to not snap at her mother.

"Love you." Amelia stated walking out of her room while kissing her daughters forehead.

"Love you too." Luna responded under her breath as her mother left her room closing the door.

Amelia got pregnant at the age of eighteen making her a teen mom. Rowan, Luna's dad was in fact nineteen at the time. they were the stereotypical high school sweethearts. it was the cliché story of a bad boy and a good girl.

both her parents bonded over the lose of there mothers. they were young and reckless. Luna's birth was not planned. Rowan didn't have a good life at home and suffered from physical abuse induced by his dad. causing Rowan to move out at the age of eighteen.

in view of the fact that Amelia was a young mother their relationship was superior. and they were like best friends.

Luna decided it was time to pack her stuff and mentally prepare herself to move in with a posh jerk that was soon to be her step dad. she hated the thought of living with a men. that meant no more walking around the house with just an oversized t-shirt and underwear or peeing with the door open.

"MOM I PACKED ALL MY STUFF." she yelled three hours later. her room was now covered with moving boxes. Luna stood in her room observing every little detail. she was going to miss it. but she was also ready to start over.

"Great. some guys will be here in ten minutes to pick up the boxes." Amelia stated while entering her daughters now almost empty room.

"Mom. what is the real reason were leaving." Luna asked quietly. paying attention to her mothers facial expression. Luna was an expert at figuring people out. She was like a human lie detector

"You know why. Daven has expanded his company so he has to move for a while. I don't like long distance relationships you know. and don't think i didn't notice you extremely low-spirited music sessions in your room while smoking cigarettes on your bed. you are not comfortable in your own skin. I want you to have a new start and new good people in your environment." her mom answered honestly while rubbing her daughters soft rosy cheeks. Luna looked up in the ocean blue eyes of her mother and softly smiled thanking her.

"Now chop chop we are leaving." Her mom announced lifting up the mood in the room. Luna nodded and gave her mother a soft smile following her downstairs. She greeted the men who were gonna pick up the boxes and stood in front of her house taking a deep breath. She was gonna leave the house she grew up in. She was gonna leave good memories and a lot of bad ones. And it bought her some kind of calmness that no one was gonna know her on the new island.

"Let's go lunie." her mom said grabbing her daughters arm softly guiding her to the SUV Daven send.

the sun was beginning to set and all the boxes were in the moving van. the van was already on its way to the new house in outer banks. opened the door of her step dads black SUV and got into the back seat. this can only be her new start if she allows it to be her new start.
