Atsushi Nakajima knew he was in love with Akutagawa Ryuunosuke from the moment he first saw him. But it was a love that could never be reciprocated.

He watched from afar as Akutagawa moved through the world with a deadly grace, a darkness always looming around him. Atsushi was drawn to him like a moth to a flame, even though he knew that the closer he got, the more he would be burned.

He tried to bury his feelings, to push them down and focus on his work, but they wouldn't go away. They only grew stronger with each passing day.

He watched as Akutagawa poured all of his energy into his work, his obsession with power and control consuming him. Atsushi wanted to reach out to him, to offer him comfort and support, but he knew that Akutagawa would never accept it.

One day, Akutagawa was injured on a mission. Atsushi rushed to his side, his heart beating faster than ever before. As he tended to Akutagawa's wounds, he could feel the heat of his body, the sound of his ragged breaths.

In that moment, he knew that he could never be satisfied with just being friends. He needed more, even if it meant facing rejection.

He confessed his feelings to Akutagawa, his voice shaking with emotion. Akutagawa's reaction was not what Atsushi had hoped for. He looked at him with cold eyes, as if he was an inconvenience.

"Your feelings are irrelevant to me," Akutagawa said, his words cutting like a knife. "I have no use for love or sentimentality. It's a weakness that I cannot afford."

Atsushi's heart shattered into a million pieces. He had known that Akutagawa was cold and distant, but he had hoped that he could break through his walls. Now, he realized that he had been fooling himself.

He walked away, his head hung low, feeling the weight of his unrequited love crushing him. He knew that he would never forget Akutagawa, no matter how much it hurt.

From that day on, he threw himself into his work, trying to forget the pain that he carried in his heart. But he knew that he would never be able to fully let go of the love that he had for Akutagawa. It was a love unrequited, a wound that would never fully heal.
