Atsushi and Akutagawa were tasked with investigating a recent string of robberies that had been occurring around the city. They had been running themselves ragged, following leads and interviewing suspects, but to no avail. It seemed as though the thief was always one step ahead of them.

One day, as they were walking through the city, they happened upon a small flower shop. Atsushi paused, looking at the colorful blooms on display.

"Hey, Akutagawa," he said, tugging on his sleeve. "Let's take a break for a little bit. We could use some fresh air."

Akutagawa looked skeptical but didn't argue. They stepped inside the flower shop, and Atsushi took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet fragrances.

"Wow, it smells amazing in here," he said, looking around at the different flowers.

Akutagawa huffed, not seeming impressed, but Atsushi could see a small smile on his face. They browsed the shop for a bit, with Atsushi excitedly pointing out different types of flowers and Akutagawa pretending not to care.

Eventually, Atsushi selected a bouquet of flowers, paying the shopkeeper before they stepped back out into the street.

"Where do you want to go?" Atsushi asked, looking around.

Akutagawa shrugged. "I don't know. We should probably get back to work."

Atsushi frowned. "Come on, we can take a little break. Let's go find somewhere to sit and enjoy the flowers."

Akutagawa didn't look thrilled, but he didn't argue. Atsushi led them towards a small park, and they eventually found themselves in a beautiful flower field. The colors were so vibrant, and the scent of the flowers filled the air.

Atsushi let out a content sigh, feeling at ease for the first time in weeks. Akutagawa looked around, seeming almost impressed.

"It's nice here," he murmured.

Atsushi grinned, holding out the bouquet of flowers. "Here, pick one."

Akutagawa rolled his eyes but eventually plucked a small purple flower, holding it between his fingers. Atsushi smiled, picking a bright yellow one and tucking it behind his ear.

They walked through the field, the flowers brushing against their legs. Atsushi chattered away about the different types of flowers, but Akutagawa seemed more content to just listen.

Eventually, they came to a clearing, and Atsushi plopped down on the ground. Akutagawa hesitated for a moment before reluctantly sitting down next to him.

They sat in silence for a few moments, enjoying the peace and quiet. Atsushi absentmindedly played with the flowers, twirling them between his fingers. Akutagawa watched him for a moment before speaking up.

"Why are you always so...happy?"

Atsushi looked up, surprised. "What do you mean?"

Akutagawa shrugged. "You're always smiling, always optimistic. How do you do it?"

Atsushi frowned, not sure how to respond. "I...I don't know. I guess I just try to focus on the good things in life. It's not always easy, but it's worth it."

Akutagawa snorted. "You make it sound so simple."

Atsushi laughed. "It's not simple, but it's important. Especially in our line of work. We see a lot of terrible things, but we can't let that consume us. We have to keep fighting, keep moving forward."

Akutagawa was quiet for a few moments before speaking up again. "You're not afraid..?"
Atsushi looked at him before giggling slightly, "no, not really. No matter what happens I always try to look at the brighter side of things"
Akutagawa cupped the others face in his hands before whispering to him. "And this is why I adore you."
