A/N: I know this maybe strange, Gotta Love Ellie's Glowup, I promise it will all make sense. You will see, but until then enjoy the ride.

Thump, Thump, Thump, went her heart alongside the faint sounds of her breath, as she allowed herself to linger in the corner. Her back pressed against the hard wall, clutching her gun close to her chest. Rather then have someone towering over her as one might expect upon hearing her linger breathes. Through while no one was towering over her, there was still someone beside her, and while she was worried, her breaths quietly coming out, he didn't look the least bit worried. A smile was itched upon his face almost pleased by what was happening. She couldn't say she wasn't expecting this particular re-action coming from him, after all she and him were very much different. While she was as far from a warrior or experienced in battle, he had more experience in battle then she could ever dream of, all before she was even a thought in the universe. Yet despite being so experienced rather then mock the woman for her lack of experience as some might do, the man allowed his hand to linger towards her. Stretching it out as far as he could, as he looked to her, a look of concern on his face. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

It was that question that snapped the young woman out of her thoughts, as she looked to her partner. Her heart still thumping quickly both by his presense, and another reason. "Do I honestly have a choice?" Her eyes lingering towards the man for a moment before she chose to continue. "I mean I have to do it sometime don't I, Loki?"

Loki shook his head at this question. "You don't, I could always do it."

At this the woman let a light chuckle escape her lips. "And allow you all the glory? You would never let me hear the end of it."

"Wouldn't I?"

"You wouldn't?" The woman knew far too much about Loki to let his words fool her.

"So you would rather risk everything, rather then let me do it? Do you not trust me, darling?" A look of mock hurt crossed Loki's face.

"You know I trust you with my life." Upon hearing this the woman's heart seemed to speed up, through she reminded herself as she always had to, he was likely getting caught up in the moment. He couldn't really mean that, it must be his flair for the dramatics, at least so she thought.

"Then why do this now?"

"Because I can't always be the damsel in distress. What kinda of avenger would I be then?"

"A safe kind of avenger."

"True, but alas life has risks does it not?"

"Yes, but..."

"But nothing sometimes you have to take risks, besides you won't always be their to protect me."

"But I can now."

"Doesn't mean you should have to."

"Why can't I?"

"Because maybe I want to protect you for once."

"You protect me plenty."

"Not as much as you protect me."

"This isn't a contest sweetie."

"But it feels like one."

"Why?"

"It just does, now can we quiet down before they hear us?"

"As if I was the only one in," Loki started to say before he found himself, with a hand over his mouth. The woman still wore a serious look on her face.

"Now are you going to let me do this or not?"

At this Loki took her hand off his mouth, as was soon once more staring into her eyes. "And if I don't then what will you do?" His face filled with worry, as he looked at the woman in front of him.
