Norns how does she do it, Loki wondered with every moment, her hand was still tangled in his, yet she was pulling him along, past the number of people already there. Doing whatever she could to reach the food truck that they desired, as they would come back with a bag full of food in hand, with their hands never parting. Initially, Loki had tried to pay for each meal, they purchased yet she quickly stopped them. "You aren't paying for everything," she proclaimed.
This stunned him honestly, back in Asgard, and even on Midgard anytime he had gone out, the others were usually more than happy to let him pay. Some even said it was the least that he can do, allowing him in their presence, and like the fool Loki was at times he believed them. Something that Loki made clear. "And why not?"
"As much as I appreciate a free meal, I can't just let you pay for everything."
"Yes, but isn't that what I am supposed to do as a man?"
"Perhaps to some, but certainly not when it's this size."
"The size is no problem, dear I am not without money, as you know," Loki said referring to his hobby of investing in certain stocks, usually under a false name or having Tony do it when need be. While the Avengers did pay well and provide just as well, Loki never preferred knowing that all of it came from Tony and Fury, both of whom weren't Loki's preferred people, especially Fury.
At this Ava using her free hand still holding the previous places bags, pointed it at Loki, with a serious expression on her face. "That isn't the point, you shouldn't have to pay for everything."
"Why not, I asked you out so I don't see the problem in spoiling my date?" Loki was very much confused about why Ava was putting up an issue with this.
"I can't do it under good conscience, now are we going to bicker all night and be crushed by a hoard of people or will you give in?"
As much as Loki was tempted to give in, he couldn't just allow Ava to pay for the rest of their meal, considering he had been the one to invite her along, insisting that he could seduce her and that he would be the perfect date. After all the perfect date wouldn't make the other pay for the meal. Thus why instead of backing down Loki held his ground up. "Sorry, darling, but I am afraid that won't be happening." Loki allows his free hand to grow green summoning his wallet from his pocket dimension.
"Won't it?" A ferocious look came over the rest of Ava's face, the two almost glaring at each other ready to compete over the bill. Only for someone else to speak up.
"As much as I would love to see this, I do have other customers you know," the owner of the food truck pointed out, reminding both Loki and Ava just where they were. "So if you can hurry this along that would be nice."
Another glare was exchanged between Loki and Ava, both set in their ways, still ready to race over the bill. "Give up, Loki."
"Never."
"Come on both, we can't stand here forever."
"I could stand here all night as long as I am with you, so bring it on darling."
At this clear exhale came out of the food truck owner's mouth, likely not wanting to get involved in this couple's spat. As it seemed that the owner would have to solve this issue, all of it unhelped by the crowd of people still looking for food. "Seriously, this over a bill?"
"Yes," both Loki and Ava responded.
How did I get into this mess, the owner wondered, Loki hearing it due to his telekinetic abilities. It only took a moment after this for the owner to have an idea. "Fine, since you two aren't going to give in, and I would rather not be here forever, why don't each of you pay for what the other order? That way you both pay for the other, see the problem solved."
