Aparation was not something I enjoyed. In fact I hated it. Not only because it made me sick to my stomach, but because it had a habit of landing someone in a place they really did not want to be in. In this case, Sebastian and I, who attempted to transport to Ominis's house, instead zapped into his bathroom, as him and Poppy were casually taking a bath together.
"Ahhhhh!" Poppy screamed.
"Merlin's beard!" Ominis joined, and they both yelled in embarrassment and shock, as they tried to cover themselves up. I quickly shaded my eyes with my fingers and did the same to Sebastian, who was equally as shameful.
"I am so so sorry-"
"Get out!!" Ominis demanded as we awkwardly rushed out the room and slammed the door shut. Sebastian looked at me, I looked at him, and we both burst out laughing as if we weren't almost killed a few moments ago.
"I-I can't believe that, h-happened." I could barely contain myself, my hands clutching my stomach. Sebastian was also rolling round in giggles until he stopped and seriously said, "I hope you weren't looking at his...bits."
I burst out laughing again. And again. And again, until I started to feel light headed. I knew this was my defence mechanism to avoid myself from dealing with the grave situation that we had found ourselves in, and I knew the reality of things would come crashing down on me sooner rather than later.
"I can hear you two." Ominis grumbled as we heard him dash around the room, feet clamouring like a penguin on an ice block.
"Are you decent?" Sebastian called out, a smirk playing on his lips. "Yes." Poppy squeaked, and she popped her head from behind the door, her cheeks the colour of crimson. She looked utterly adorable, her sea blue eyes gleaming in happiness despite the embarrassment. She hadn't really changed - she was still small, brunette and pale, but she did seem to grow into her features more. Behind her, Ominis opened the door wide, his mature face taking me by surprise.
I had to admit, he looked gorgeous. His hair was longer, silver replaced by gold as the strands crept down to his chin. His frame was extremely wide and thick, his biceps the size of Poppy's face. A beard had grown around his upper lip and down to his chin, making him look slightly rough around the edges, but it suited him. I think I was staring a bit too much because I felt Sebastian elbow me in the ribs.
"I'm glad that you're both here, but may you please explain to me why you aparated in my bathroom?"
Sebastian and I turned the same shade as Poppy and we apologised continuously for our intrusion. "I think it's best we discuss this over a cup of tea." Sebastian asserted, and our two friends guided us downstairs to their beautiful home.
A mansion. It was a gigantic, a piece of art, worth more galeons than I could afford in a lifetime. Marble flooring, a grand staircase perfectly placed in the middle, pillars the size of sleek boulders and furniture made with a touch of gold. My my, they were living the life of luxury. I was well aware that the Gaunt family had access to an unlimited amount of coin, so this lavish home did not come as a surprise to me.
I found myself losing track of my surroundings, and suddenly, I was parading in a gigantic library. There must have been thousands of books within these walls, pages flying about and a small house elf, cleaning away the cluttered papers. I was so enthralled by this masterpiece that I hadn't realised that someone had crept up behind me.
"Grand isn't it." That posh accent I missed so much played a sweet tune in my ears, and I couldn't help but smile as I turned round to greet Ominis.
"It certainly is, I see you wasted no time in creating such a marvellous space." I praised, my eyes sparkling in admiration.
