she had grown closer with the boys through messy and quick letters, communicating with paul the most. he mostly told her about the front and how the others were holding up, while she told him about the east. she remembers the first day she received a letter from him, the feeling of her heart swelling. the image of him in the back of her mind was the only thing keeping her sanity.

olga had also came back. when she first stepped off the truck from the front, covered in dirt, grime and blood. angelica ran to her, embracing her fast. the younger women dug her face into the elder's neck, not caring the mud that now caked her face too. ever since, the two had not left each other alone, angelica had told her about the boys and olga only laughed and smirked when she heard about paul, watching the blood rush to the girl's face when she mentioned him.

angelica stood up, brushing any excess grime from her hands and she took a deep breath, standing away from the british solider on the floor below her, his chest rising up and down slowly. she was counting down the days until her next break. just two more weeks.

"aleksandrovich." a male voice spoke before she turned around to be fasted with her captain. she hummed. "off you go, go take your five minutes." she nodded, practically running out the room.

the fresh, cool air hit her face as she took a deep breathe, walking to a nearby bench as she sat down, pulling out her notepad and pen and started to write.

❛dear paul,
how is everything down west? it is chaos up in the east, man after man. people are saying the war will be over soon, maybe once it is, we could meet up. i've always wanted to visit germany, or you could come to russia.
anyways, how are you? i hope the front isn't too horrid which is probably a stupid thing to say but oh well. i miss you and the boys and i hope none have you have gotten too injured yet.
write back soon.
love, angelica❜
