Letitia sat in her glam chair while her squad applied foundations, shadows and other makeup products to her face. Iesha sat at the other end of the vanity table going over her itinerary once again for the morning. Letitia's mind couldn't help but to replay everything that had happened last night with Harper. It wasn't like her to go that far after only knowing someone a few hours but with Harper it was like she couldn't control herself. Something else had taken over. It could've just been the immense amount of loneliness she'd been feeling the past year. It was making her do things she usually wouldn't do. She blamed Morgan for that. But thank the heavens for Harper. Speaking of Harper---she should probably text her and tell her good morning.
Good morning! Did you sleep okay? Are you ready for today? It's a big day for you too!
She closed her left eye while her makeup artist, Paradise, blended her shadows. She glanced in the mirror. She could tell Paradise was going for a subtle, natural look and she loved it. She never wanted her makeup to hide how she looked. She only wanted it to enhance her beauty. Paradise always received that memo, never to disappoint.
"Okay so we're doing Elle first and then Variety, last time you got your magazines confused. I believe Sonya Tomas will be interviewing you. Well, at least that's the request I made for Variety. She's great. We loved her the last three times. As far as Elle I'm not so sure---" Iesha glanced over at Letitia who was eyes deep in her phone not paying her any mind. The smile on her face was something she hadn't seen in a while. She waved her hand trying to regain her attention.
"Uh…earth to Tish. Who are you texting? And don't say Dom because even she can't make your ass smile that big." She gave a curious look.
Letitia waved her off. She wasn't ready to tell anyone about Harper. Hell she didn't even know what it was…was it something? It couldn't be. They had just met and although she couldn't wait to see her again she still held out hope that Morgan would come around. It was dumb, she knew it was but nobody could blame a girl for trying…right? Her phone buzzed and she eagerly opened the new message, smiling yet again.
I slept better than I thought I would. Hard to get you off my mind though. I'm so excited for today. I'm already counting down the minutes until I'm with you! Until then---I'll be checking emails and coming up with new designs.
Oh, no. Put the work down and go out and enjoy yourself this beautiful morning. You're in L.A. right now so go and explore---can't wait until you're here. At least then I'll be the one really enjoying myself.
Iesha rolled her eyes at a giddy Letitia.
"Tish…this only works if we are in this together, you do know that right?" She put her iPad down on the table and leaned backwards, crossing her arms over her chest. Letitia gave her a quick smile. "Yes, Iesha. I know this. Sorry---you have my full attention. No more phone…no more texting." She put her phone in her lap and let Paradise continue her work. "Elle first---Variety second. Sonya Tomas will be interviewing me for Variety…or wait no, Elle---"
"Tish!..."
"I'm joking. We're not sure who's got me covered for Elle. I heard you." She laughed. It wasn't purposely that she always stressed Iesha out. She just couldn't help it, she was wound so tight sometimes it was how she got her to loosen up. Although it never worked. She went back to focusing on the messages coming through on her phone.
She needs to write "find a man" on that iPad so she can ease up off of me for a while.
"So---not going to tell me who you're texting? I know it's not Morgan and it would also explain why you came back to your hotel after midnight---without Mickey and Rose who are here to protect you, by the way!" Iesha told her. "Yeah they came by my room last night and filled both me and Kami in on your little dinner date."
