I ignored the rapid beating of my heart at the information Stella just enlightened me on. I normally wouldn't have even agreed to throwing such an event and attending it as well, knowing full well that I wasn't there to give orders repeatedly. But my mom and Spencer had their way of convincing me.
They even used their puppy dog eyes on me and I couldn't say no. Not to mention that they practically gaslighted me by reminding me that it was Rory's first time back home and ten thousand years and in order to make her feel more welcome we should throw a party. Like she wasn't fucking born in this country.
I would've never been this reckless, this stupid enough to not thinking everything through before I even agreed to a fucking party. I made sure everyone was verified and their identification was clear so that not one of our enemies knew our whereabouts.
Being the most powerful mafia family in the whole of Italy practically left us with enemies on every block and we were just left to deal with it because those are the consequences of owing and ruling over a whole fucking country and soon even the whole of Europe. Every street in Italy had my name marked on it and everyone knew my mafia and I were not one to mess with.
Yet still, people were still fucking stupid enough to test me.
I didn't let myself go into full panic mode until I knew what was going on for sure. I couldn't let what some girl I barely knew get to me. I grabbed her arm and helped her up even though she was falling in and out of sleep with the blunt still practically glued to her hand. Her eyes were hazy and she didn't look like she was even mentally there. She looked like she was spinning in circles and doing all sorts of things in that head of hers.
"Come on, Stella. We have to go." I urge as she stops in front of me, causing my front to brush against her. I was way too much in a rush to be even virtually turned on by the simple action.
I guess what I said finally clicked into her head after a few moments of the information loading and digesting in her brain as she grabbed tightly onto the blanket around her and left the room with me. "So you're actually taking me seriously now?" She pointed out, giggling drunkenly as she still slurred her words.
"No, love, I'm not that stupid," I muttered under my breath.
I'm just waiting for the conversation when she informs me how smoking weed like crazy has more benefits than drinking alcohol.
I grabbed onto her waist and walked faster with her. I couldn't risk calling the men I had staying and guarding our base. They could be being held hostage and then the men holding them hostage could be using the call to track my signal and end up killing everyone in this damn club. I could never be too careful.
We made it downstairs successfully and without any broken bones due to how I was dragging Stella down the stairs because apparently her legs just stopped working all of a sudden. Crazy, I know, but it isn't the only crazy thing I've heard from her tonight. Surprisingly the music was still booming as loud as ever and people were still cheering and screaming and dancing their asses off.
I searched around the room, letting Stella lay down on the sofa close to where I stood. I spotted Rory at the center of the bar taking shots with everyone shouting at her to chug it all down. I would've been scolding the fuck out of her for taking chances like that. What if someone spiked it while she wasn't looking?
"Rory it's time to go," I order, wrapping my arm around her to bring her closer so she could hear me and not the loud booming of the music.
"What? But Attie, you said we could stay here for however long I wanted to." She pouted, still holding the glass in her shaky hand.
