A T L A S

I take Stella into my arms and take her away from the noise. The sound must have triggered some nerves in her because the tears were still falling from her eyes and she was feverishly shaking. There was no doubt something that she's experienced in the past for her to react this way.

I believe that now even more especially since the event that occurred the dawn after Rory's party. When she cried in my arms and said things like "It's all my fault." Obviously I had millions of questions circling my mind. Like, what was all her fault? Who was the cause of all the pain she was harboring? And how in the world she manages to mask it so well?

Some part of me believes that it was some dickhead who did something to her and I'm losing my mind just fucking thinking about it. I can't pressure her into telling me though, if she felt like sharing that information with me, she would have already.

Right?

"Atlas!" Kellan calls, running in my direction while I still cradled a very shaken Stella. "Ray Monti says he's got the money he owes you from last week's shipments. He says to meet him at his place in 20."

"Alright," I call back. I turn to Eddie who's currently loading up all the guns and sharpening the knives along with the rest of my team. It was a ritual for them to do such preparations the minute the lights start flashing and the alarm is blaring. "Eddie, you Akira and Viola will go along as my backup. I need to have eyes while I'm there, Ray always has some sneaky dumb shit up his sleeve."

"Get the cars ready, please. I'll be there in 5." I finally say, looking down at Stella. I needed to take her somewhere, away from all this. Her crying had stopped as did the noise and the covering of her ears, but she still insisted on keeping her eyes closed.

I look up at them to make sure they heard me because no one had responded but they all just stood there, looking at me with their mouths agape. I look to my left and right and even behind me to make sure I didn't grow some wings in the manner of seconds or if there was someone holding a knife to me.

"What?" I finally ask them. I swear to God, they're weird.

"D-Did the word 'please' just leave your mouth?" Eddie was the one to speak first as he held the knife he was sharpening even closer to him as if I were some wolf that would attack them at any given moment.

"Right? I thought I was just hearing things," Kellan joined in agreement.

The room was filled with murmurs between everyone while I just stood there wondering what the fuck all the noise was for. "Can you all just shut up. Please?"

"Oh hell no," Akira exclaimed. "I think there's something wrong with him. He's definitely in the early stages of an exorcism."

"What makes you so sure? Are you an exorcism specialist?" Eddie inquires, joining Akira in front of me.

"No, but I do watch my fair share of Attack on Titan." She replies.

Viola rushes to her side, "Are you well, Atlas. Do you have a fever? What's wrong with you?" She uses the back of her hand to feel my head. "Where's Ellie? We need the doctor."

"It is the doctor!" Kellan exclaims out of nowhere, making me even more confused.

"Okay guys, back up and fuck off." I ordered, taking a step back myself, "You guys are gonna stop dealing with the drug shipments because it's clearly making you all go a little coo-coo." I turn to leave but say, "I'll be back." before doing so.
