Hyunjin P.O.V

The music is deafening. I can't even hear my own screams anymore.
I realised that I had probably stopped screaming anyway. There was no point. No one is going to come and save me. And I can't save myself anymore. I could only lay like a corpse till I am buried underneath the dirt of this world. Peace would only arrive then. I don't want to breathe. I don't want to-

"Hyunjin?"

A sharp breath of air filled my lungs. The curtain of past was removed from my eyes when they saw him.

"Chris."

"Yes." He smiled gently. His gaze kind as ever.

"Who was it? At the door?" I asked as I was pulled back into reality.

"Oh...no one important. Just a client."

"A client?" I turned to look at the wall clock behind me. "But it's almost midnight."

"Yeah. He apparently heard that I am usually available and hold meetings no matter what the hour of the day or night is. That is of course the a thing of the past, before I was a married man." Christopher explained.

"So you sent him away?" I asked, taken by surprise.

"Yeah. He just came here to hand me a document anyway. For the new deal with his construction company to built a new branch of our hospital in Songnae-dong..."

Songnae-dong?
.
"You little peace of shit! Do you actually think you are a part of this family? That you are my brother huh? You are just a bitch like your mother was!"
.
"If you dare to think that you have any importance in this household you are fooling yourself! My son is the sole heir! My husband is kind enough to let a dirty blood like you stay here with all of us."
.
"Don't call me aboeji. Junghoon is my only son."

"...I did find it a bit weird since he could have sent his secretary to deliver the file. After all he is his company's chairman. But he said that the document is too important to hand it to just anyo-"

"Stop." For some reason I didn't want to hear about this client anymore. "I mean...you shouldn't think about work this late at night. You should get some rest."

Chris smiled and nodded.

"You too."

"Hmm."

He didn't say anything else. He only kept staring at me with those eyes. The eyes that I was barely capable of looking away from. But I had to, orselse I felt like I would turn into a puddle under his piercing gaze.

"Okay then. Goodnight." I said before turning to step on the stairs.

"Hyunjin!"

"Yes?" I turned back.

He looks nervous.

"There's a beach that I love. I always used to visit when I was a kid. I want to take Yeji there...I think we should all go. The three of us. For picnic. A family picnic."

"Family picnic? I like the sound of that."

He grinned widely at my response. I resumed climbing up the stairs and when I heard a faint but excited "Yes!" I couldn't help bit grin too.
