"Karlie, I need three lattes and two donuts for table four." Olivia said this in a hurry and went to the other side of the café to take orders.

On Wednesdays and Sundays, they always had so many customers and people around, the ones who wanted just a snack, the ones who wanted coffee to go, the ones who wanted both, and the relaxed ones like Olivia's father, Edward, who was a regular customer and usually came around just because of the company. Karlotta didn't mind him; he was always focused on reading GQ Australia since he was half Australian, but he was more in love with his wife than in Australia, so that's why he was enjoying only Australian magazines and TV shows with his British wife. He always said that he traded love for love and got 'best of both worlds.' He always had amazing advice and tips about everything up his sleeve. Jenson appreciated his opinions on every new coffee idea and combination, and Karlotta appreciated his opinions about her life choices more.

"So, my lovely bird. When is your little prince coming to see you?" Edward told Karlotta looking at her over his reading glasses, he loved to call her "bird" or "birdie" because, in his opinion, he had never met a person who reminded him more of a bird than her. She was always chirping like a little bird; even on rainy days, she always had a smile on her face, but she knew exactly who to spit on when needed. Karlotta told Edward about her friend Claire and her plans. In Edward's opinion, Karlotta didn't need to tell him her friend's plan because, when he first saw Claire, he exactly knew what she was like and what she was up to.

"If I remember well, and you know I do, your friend said something about the first Wednesday of February." Karlotta looked at him, realising he was right. It was this Wednesday they were talking about, but she totally forgot, and she looked like a mess because of the work chaos that was going on.

"Speaking of the devil." Olivia said and pointed at Claire, who was just coming in with a guy behind her. They went to sit at the table that was farther away from Karlotta's bar, since she worked today behind the bar with drinks.

"C'mon, say hello to your friends; we will survive for five minutes without you." Jenson said to Karlotta, which, to Jenson's surprise, she refused because mostly she didn't want to be pathetic and she loved being behind the bar when there was chaos going on. It was her safe place because even though she loved to communicate with people, not all people were nice, especially men coming from the centre of London who were always thinking that being nice was flirting.

"This place is super nice, Claire. How did you find out about it? When you said we could go for a coffee, I thought I'd have to drive all the way to the centre of England or something to pick up some coffee. This is amazing—it's Buttons Café, isn't it? I saw something on Instagram about the opening a few years ago, but I didn't have the time to go." Max said to Claire, but she was busy trying to find her friend, but quickly she realised Karlotta was behind the bar.

"Yes, Maxie boy, it's Buttons. Actually, one of my closest friends works here, and that's how I found out about it. They have amazing coffee! Would you mind ordering our coffees while I excuse myself and go to the bathroom?" Claire said, and before Max could answer that rhetorical question of hers, she had already disappeared. He went to the bar and looked at the brunette, who was smiling at the customer who was paying his bill, and he couldn't help but overhear the conversation that was going on.

"Sorry to bother you, but would you mind going out sometimes with me? If you would be kind to give me your phone number so I could call you sometimes, hm? " The guy asked and wiped the smile off her face immediately; she looked at him with nothing but greyness and boredom in her eyes.

"Don't you have a girlfriend waiting for you over there?" the brunette asked him, and before he could answer, she just added, "Sorry, but my name is No. My number is No." she said, quoting that song; it made Max laugh a little bit. She noticed his, not so hidden, laugh, but the other guy just left, being upset and embarrassed.
