Tripti
"Achoo!", As soon as I entered the living room I was sneezing. I should've waited for him, in the end he did win. I would have to take a leave tomorrow, not a day since I joined and I'm taking leaves. I don't feel good about it but my viral may transfer to others so it's better to stay at home.
"Why are you sneezing Tripti and why are your clothes wet! Go change you'll catch cold-"
" You've already caught it but go change I'll prepare tea.", My mother ordered while going inside the kitchen. She works so hard, I'll be able to reduce her burden atleast.
"Achoo achoo!"
"Di! Who's coat is this? Don't tell me!", She started exclaiming. "Stop for once! It's my boss's"
"Boss? You never told me about your boss? Who's he? How does he look?"
" Why do you want to know about him? He's married anyway.. ", i state while frowning at her weird question.
"Really? A married guy giving you ride and his coat?", She asked in suspicion.
" It was just an act of kindness- how do you know he dropped me off? "
" I might have heard a car racing down the street and I know you wouldn't take a taxi home so yeah... It was a guy plus the coat tells so so"
" Zyada hi akal nahi chal rahi? ", I point my finger at her accusingly.
(Aren't you using too much of your brain?)
"Aakhir behen kiski hu?", She retorts. (After all I'm your sister)
"Achoo achoo"
"God Tripti! What were you doing in the rain?!", My mother scolded.
" I was..." I couldn't tell her the truth. It's not important.
"Achoo achoo!!"
"Drink this and don't switch on the fan while sleeping tonight!" "Ji"
The next day I was better. Maybe the tea helped or was it the mail I received from my boss.
I was taking out my laundry when my eyes fell on his coat. I had to give it back, the coat looked worth... Nevermind. Checking for anything kept inside before I give it for drycleaning I found a picture, turning it around my eyes landed on the person in that picture..
It was my picture.
Not in my kurta or even work uniform but a wedding lehenga... I had vermillion on my head, mangalsutra around my neck.
My vision became blur, black dots and finally darkness.
"Tripti! Tripti!", I could hear my mother and sister screaming my name. After a while all the things come crashing down, I was married... The Mangalsutra I got was mine, I was married to..
Rudra.
He had lied, hidden the truth from me. All the things he did... They were all some kind of act, to... I don't have any idea. Why did I marry him? Was I in love with him? But I didn't look happy in the picture. My mother and sister don't know about the marriage either.
What was he playing at?
I'll have to talk it out.
