Tripti

You know the situation when you die out of embarrassment? Well that was my situation. How could I be so dumb? What was I even thinking about?

Maybe this was the side effect of starving myself.

Today was karva chauth, and I had to keep a fast. Never in my life had I not eaten anything for a day, let alone keep a nirjala vrat!

(Karwa chauth is the day when Hindu women keep fast for the long life of their husbands, nirjala means without drinking water)

"Oh", he spoke. "Well...", He started saying but I cut him off, "Just please! Don't say anything, let's just forget what I said huh?"

" I can gladly... Make your dream come true, wifey", and I shivered.

The things he does to me, oh.

No Tripti no. You have to focus on your work and then leave for the market to buy a saree and things for Pooja. Then you have to come back in the office and break your fast. Focus!

"Please, Mr. Rudra, you promised to not make fun!"

" I'm not making fun, I'm genuinely-"

"I don't! That's the dream we are talking about! I didn't want it in reality!", I declared but deep down I blushed hard thinking about the dream.

The dream.... It was so weird to dream about someone doing uhm to you, it was so real, as if he was actually in front of my eye. But I couldn't enjoy it to the fullest because of my alarm.

Enjoy? Seriously Tripti!

Today is a festive day, I shouldn't think all this!

I shouldn't think all this at all, actually.

Soon it was lunch time.

"Mr. Rudra please don't order lunch for me, today"

"why? "

" I... Can I leave early today? I have some important work to do.. "

"... It's okay you want to take the rest of the day off, but eat the lunch before you leave"

" No, actually I have to leave right now. Can I? "

" What's the matter", he asked with a doubtful look.

" Nothing, can I leave? ", I asked again not willing to give him the answer.

"Fine", and that was all I needed to bolt out of the building.

My throat was dry, head lighter than usual and body dehydrated.  The scorching sun over my head wasn't doing any good either. I was in Dadar East to shop for a saree. There were lakhs of sarees to choose from. I somewhat liked shopping. I couldn't actually shop freely before, because of our financial conditions... But now, it was a good experience.

Now I know why women like to go on shopping.

Colourful bags, shoes, bangles, sarees, sunglasses, what not! And not to mention, Cotton candy, Pani Puri, kulfi!

Just how I restrained myself!

In the end after three hours, I got the saree.

It was almost six, I had bought the karwa, sieve and all the essential things. I was starting to feel dizzy, the food vendors weren't helping either. Now I know the importance of food.
