𝑌/𝑁's 𝑃𝑂𝑉 :I feel a pair of hands lightly shaking me awake as I look up to see Neteyam. I yawn, sitting up on my mat as I look around to see the whole family up and about.
"Morning," Neteyam gives me a small smile as I rub my eyes. "Morning," I say back, stretching my back briefly before moving over to where the rest of the family sat, eating breakfast.
The meal is quiet, everyone likely too wasted from the ride and late party to make conversation.
As I silently eat an unfamiliar fruit, Neteyam swallows and begins to speak, "So, I was thinking we could start with direhorses. They're a species that like ilu, do not have a permanent bond. It will be a helpful ride around the forest while we prepare you for getting an ikran," he explains.
I nod my head at this, excited for our first lesson. I am pretty used to getting things down easily and I hope that this will not be any different.
After breakfast, Neteyam and I were off for our very first lesson.

Him and I walk nearly in sync as we swing our arms, attached to each other by our hands.
"So what will you teach me after this?" I question and he thinks, "Tracking, basic hunting, how to use a bow and simply the ways of the forest. Once I am certain that you are ready, you will get your very own ikran," he bows his head, giving me a nudge with his shoulder.
We arrive at a large clearing, direhorses spread around in different areas.
As we walk, I let out an audible gasp as I step into a wet substance. "Ew, what is this?" I look up to Neteyam, noticing the watery brown mush on my foot.
"That, my girl, would be mud," he comments, laughing at my obliviousness, "Wet dirt," I cringe at the feeling.
By the sea, we did not have much dirt, only sand which when wet, was not nearly as unbearable as this.
Neteyam just laughs at my expression, quickly going off and finding a suitable steed, leading it over.
It is a tall creature, broad and strong. I gulp, almost intimidated by it as I eye it up and down. "Nothing to be scared of, just pretend she is a ilu," he reassures me, offering me a hand as he helps me up.
"Now feel her-" "Yo Neteyam!" he is suddenly cut off.
I audibly groan at the familiar voice and hear Neteyam sigh to himself as he turns around to meet the owner of the voice.
The two of us see the same group of boys from the previous night, Pi'ral and Davin leading them.
"Hey, what's up?" Pi'ral waltzes over to where the two of us were situated. "Nothing just uh, teaching Y/N," he purses his lips, giving the boy and his entourage a dry nod.
