When Visenya Velaryon was born paler than the winter snows barely six moons after the wedding of Rhaenyra and Laenor, the whispers started there. Bastard. No matter how hard Rhaenyra tried to claim she was Laenor's daughter, her resemblance to Daemo...

Settling in was the easy part. She felt comfortable in her room and valued her time alone, something she was freely given. With Aemond being gone, it didn't matter if she was around anyone else and Alicent didn't particularly like her so she stayed where she was wanted; with Helaena or Grey Ghost.
The day after her arrival she was introduced to the twins, perfect little Jaehaera and Jaehaerys.
"They're so small, smaller than Joff or Aegon was."
"They're twins and they came early, they're a bit premature but they're so healthy," Helaena smiled proudly. "Aren't they just precious?"
"Helaena, they're perfect," Visenya smiled and held Jaehaerys in her arms. He was quieter than his sister and his purple eyes were full of sleep and yet he stayed awake.
"Hopefully soon they will have a cousin to play with. You and Aemond will have such beautiful children!"
Visenya tried not to grimace in disgust at the prospect of having children with him. In truth, she was terrified to see him. She hadn't seen him since she took his eye, so surely he wanted to absolutely destroy her. Aemond could hold a grudge and he knew how to be hateful. If he could bully her just for being a bastard, she was terrified of what he would do to her for taking his eye.
"Has he met them yet or did he leave before you had the twins?" Visenya asked.
"He left a few days before. I hope that means he'll come home sooner, they should know their uncle. I'm shocked you haven't bled yet, aren't you fourteen?" She asked.
Visenya nodded, rocking Jaehaerys in her arms. "I am. I don't mind. I don't want to have children before my body is ready. Girls that bleed at eleven and twelve and carry children so young are more likely to die. I quite enjoy living and I don't want to die on the birthing bed. I want to die of older age or on my dragon."
"I'm so happy you claimed a dragon. Grey Ghost has waited for you," Helaena hummed and laid her daughter in her crib.
"Really?" Visenya smiled. "I have never had dreams like you."
"They're not fun," she mumbled in a moment of clarity. For once, Helaena's eyes were clear and not glazed with prophecies.
"It doesn't matter, I love you no matter what," Visenya gave a comforting smile and set Jaehaerys down in his crib to hug her aunt.
"You'll grow to love him," Helaena whispered in her embrace. "He's more complicated than you think."
Visenya frowned but kept hugging her. "I took his eye, Hel. After these years I do feel guilty but I can't apologize."
"Why?" Helaena pulled away and frowned.
"Our mothers hate each other. We were raised to hate each other. I thought I was doing it out of defense for myself and my brothers but it was just a fight, It's not like he was going to kill them or anything. I should stand by my actions, I shouldn't feel bad."
