An Excerpt from The Dance of the Dragons: A True Telling, by Maester Munkun

Any battle that involved the dragons of Queen Visenya Targaryen or her husband and their brothers could be called Fields of Fire all over again. They reigned fire and blood to any and all opposing troops and ships.

The Retaking of Lannisport was no exception as the Queen and her husband flew upon their dragons, sinking around two-thirds of the Greyjoy fleet. Once the Red Kraken yielded, the other third sailed home, swearing not to get involved with the rest of the war in exchange for Queen Visenya's forgiveness of their treason.

Visenya watched the fire crack as Aemond wrapped furs around her shoulders. Lady Lannister opened the gates after Lannisport was reclaimed, setting up the finest room for Aemond and Visenya to rest before heading back to the Capital.

"I still think that riding on dragonback was too much."

"Aemond, if you try to stop me from riding Grey Ghost one more time, I shall stab your belly."

Aemond let out a chuckle and sat down in the chair across from her. "We should be set to return home tomorrow. But if you want us to keep the pace of our troops, we will not be home within a day or two."

Visenya placed her hand over where the babe was kicking. "I know, but I want us to arrive valiantly above our returning Lannister troops. I want to witness the streets from above as Dalton Greyjoy is dragged by the chains that bind him."

Instead of immediate execution, Visenya had a better idea. Bind him with chains and allow the Lannister men to tie him to their horses or wheelhouses as they ride to the Capital. He would be able to keep pace for a while until he couldn't and he'd start dragging.

Lady Lannister was gracious enough to allow them most of her troops that weren't already in the war. She would keep enough troops to protect Lannisport, the rest were following Visenya and Aemond to King's Landing.

Aemond got on his knees in front of her, resting his forehead against her bump. "But, your pride aside, do you feel okay? You are pregnant and you rode into battle. Again. This is the second time, considering the Gullet was a day after her conception."

"Her? Already so sure?" She smiled, running her fingers through his hair.

"Don't change the subject, Visenya Targaryen."

"Fine, Aemond, I feel fine. I am a Targaryen, I have the blood of the dragon flowing through my veins. We belong on Dragonback, no matter our state. This means she will be born strong and ready for her own dragon. Because from my blood -"

"Shall come the Prince That Was Promised. I know," He nods, placing a kiss against her belly. "I thought it was a fairy tale for months after you told me, but no other Targaryen has been unburnt."

"It is a sign, Aemond. From my blood shall come the chosen one to end all wars. I do not believe it will be for generations but I need to make sure Maegor knows its importance so that he may carry on the burden of knowing. I have tried to find books on it, but they all use terms like Lord of Light and Azor Ahai, none that mention the Targaryens or Valyrians."
